Surrounded by endless hiking trails, waterfalls, swimming holes, picturesque towns, farms, wineries & breweries you won't be short of things to do. Enjoy a BBQ on the overhang deck, fire up the firepit under the stars, kick back in the home cinema & games room (for both adults and kids), or relax in the hot tub to finish the day - perfect escape to get away from it all!The spaceThis must be the place !Perched at the top of a hill, our cabin is set over 3 floors, meaning there is plenty of space for every one.Enjoy morning coffee at the breakfast bar, and dinners in the open plan kitchen/dining/living area. Bright and Spacious with huge typical A- Frame windows letting in natural light all day long.Spend the day visiting the local towns (Ellenville, Stone Ridge, Kerhonkson, Accord, Mountaindale and Livingston Manor all less than 30 mins away), get outdoors and go hiking , skiing, biking, or even hang gliding.There are numerous farms and farm stands to buy some delicious local produce as well as wineries, cideries, breweries for tastings and live music/entertainment.In the winter, ski resorts such as Hunter and Wyndham Mountain are also a short drive away for a day on the slopes.Spend the evening relaxing outdoors by the fire pit or in the hot tub while looking up a the mountain stars or head inside and get cosy next to the stove with a hot chocolate!The basement is the fun part!! Perfect for a games evening playing pool, darts, board games or watch your favourite movie in the snuggly cinema area with surround sound and popcorn.The large master bedroom is set as a loft-style room, there is a separate door leading to a small private balcony looking out into the back garden, a reading nook with bookcase full of our favorite reads and even a doggy den, a cosy spot for your furry friend to spend the night.The large, kingsize bed is fitted with a Casper hybrid mattress for maximum comfort and the ultimate sleep!On the main floor there are 2 other bedrooms both with cosy queen beds and large closets for storage. One bedroom has a four poster bed and the other has a desk to accommodate any remote workers.Downstairs there is a half bath with toilet/sink as well as a washer and dryer for your laundry needs. Street parking is free and plentiful.Other things to noteThis is mountain life…with that comes the wildlife , please be mindful and drive carefully as deer are always on the roads.The cabin is located at the top of a hill, during the winter and in snowy conditions a 4x4 or snow chains is needed as it can get very slippery !There is no A/C during the summer months , we have always got on fine without as temperature drops down at night time. There is a ceiling fan in the main space and plug in fans provided in the bedrooms. This cozy cabin is only 10 minutes from downtown Ellenville and 15 minutes from major grocery stores.The space is open and bright with tons of natural light and the screened in porch has cozy furniture where you can sit and listen to the stream. The Sanctuary Overlook Cabin is the perfect spot, on 7 private acres, for both a peaceful escape, or a fun-filled stay. The house is well- equipped with everything you need for a memorable visit w/ friends & family (game room, art materials, yoga mats, outdoor games, books, a fire pit, sleds, hot tub and more) The porch is the perfect place to watch our rescued goats, part of the Frederick Goat Sanctuary, in the field below or spot wildlife in the fruit orchard. Come heal with animals & nature.The spaceWhen you drive onto the property you will notice a fruit orchard in front of you and the house is on your left. There are motion lights if you come in at night to help guide you to the entrance of the house. There is a covered porch to enjoy, as well as a patio that overlooks a front yard lush with flora and fauna. You are guaranteed to see a variety of wildlife such as deer, rabbits, chipmunks, hawks, eagles, owls, woodpeckers and the occasional bear. Don't get me started on the birds! It is a peaceful place surrounded by beauty. Upon entering the house, you are welcomed by a cozy and charming living room with exceptionally high ceilings. There is a wood burning stove for winter nights and it is well lit by natural light. On this floor in the back of the house there are two bedrooms; one has a full sized bed and the second bedroom has a queen size canopy bed, large closet and is attached to the full bath.There is a fully serviced kitchen on the main floor, which is a wonderful space to gather. Your friends and family can sit around a central island that seats four for cooking together, chatting and sharing appetizers. There is also a large table where you can sit down for a meal and enjoy a view of the beautiful field below. Often, you will be greeted by deer in the early mornings and at dusk. The upstairs has a large and comfortable master suite with a queen sized bed, lovely views and a full bath. There is a bonus room in the loft area with twin beds and comfy reading/game spot that is perfect for kids. It also functions as a workspace, which is flooded with natural light and a view of the downstairs living space below. There is high speed internet and a desk if you need to check into work. The basement has been transformed into a game room with full sized ping pong table, air hockey table, dartboard, foosball and a bookcase full of games and puzzles for family fun on rainy days. Plus, we have sleds, KanJam, cornhole, croquet, soccer balls, frisbees, scooters and more for those beautiful sunny days! There is also a playground just down the driveway that guests are free to use with younger kids.If you are a fellow animal lover, the Cabin is part of the Frederick Goat Sanctuary. We have 40 (and counting) rescue goats (we'd love to tell you their stories - so please ask!) Our herd of "Big Goats" We would love to have you meet them, hang out, and give them treats if you'd like (treats are provided ;).Weather and schedule permitting, ask the owners for an evening "Goat Happy Hour" where guests can BYOB and join us to relax in hammocks and chairs surrounded by goats to chat about your day and get recommendations for things to do in the area! No need to bring utensils or plates & glasses as house is fully stocked with everything you need (except the food). This charming Aframe is tucked into the Catskill mountains, with spectacular seasonal views of the Rondout Reservoir. This house is cozy with rustic charm and is the perfect getaway nature-lovers. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the many hiking trails and waterfalls just a short drive away. A sanctuary for goats, animal lovers can visit with over 30 rescues during their stay. Art materials and yoga mats are provided to round out a perfect escape for you to unwind, rest, relax and heal.There's nothing with more rustic charm than an Aframe (at least we think so!) And we certainly pack in a lot of charm to this perfect 600 square foot chalet.The Aframe is all yours - it is not a shared space. It has its own private entrance, and has a "transition room", which separates the Aframe from the main house. This completely private guest wing has a living room with wood-burning stove, eat-in kitchen, and a loft with two full-sized beds. The bedroom comfortably sleeps four and a full sized pull out couch in the living room can sleep up to two more. The loft beds are cozy, and you wake up with a spectacular view out the front window. (Please note that the loft is a semi-private sleeping space with beds on either end of same loft space, with curtain divider) Beds have one feather mattress topper and one foam mattress topper for extra comfort. There are so many details to mention...the wood-burning stove, wraparound deck, original wide-plank wood floors, slate tilework in bathroom, and skylights in loft, kitchen and bathroom. There is also a playground just down the driveway that guests are free to use with younger kids. The area is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. Numerous countless hiking trails within minutes and Catskill Preserve trailheads just a short drive away. You can get to the infamous Blue Hole, among other local watering holes in the summer for a quick dip on a hot summer day. Also a short drive to the beautiful Mohonk and Minnewaska Preserve. You're a 10 minute drive into town for groceries, restaurants and local theater (Shadowland Theatre). You are guaranteed to see a variety of other wildlife, such as deer, rabbits, chipmunks, hawks, eagles, owls, woodpeckers and the occasional bear. Don't get me started on the birds! So many to see and we have dozens and dozens of yellow finch and hummingbirds in the summer!The wraparound deck with seasonal water views is great for lounging (during warmer months - we put furniture away in the winter) and outdoor meals. Minnewaska and Mohonk are just 25 minutes away for exceptional hiking, and local trails to beautiful waterfalls are just ten minutes up the road.
