Hotel Royal Saint-Mart

This old and outdated hotel definitely doesn't deserve 3 stars!! even 1 would be plenty for it. Rooms are old and outdated, water pressure very weak, mattress extremely uncomfortable. The electric rolling blinds on the window don't work, and neither did the air conditioning. Since the air in the room was hot and stuffy and it was very noisy outside I had the choice between not sleeping out of suffocation from heat and the stuffy air in the room, or open the window for some air and not sleep because of the noise. The owner who was quite unpleasant did admit that the blinds don't work and that the air-condition is disabled (!!) but refused to give me a partial refund or a rebate... Totally not recommend!!

Don't come here if you want to get something for your money... Rooms are old and outdated, mattress extremely uncomfortable, water pressure very weak in the shower . In stead of apologizing, doing something about it, and reduce the exaggerated room price, the owner charged fully for a night without sleep! Since the air in the room was hot and stuffy and it was very noisy outside my choice was between not sleeping out of suffocation from heat and the stuffy air in the room, or open the window for some air and not sleep because of the noise. This is a Logis hotel, so you know what to expect (in a word, reliable). Bedrooms had been modernised and ours was comfortable and quiet. The rest of the place has a slightly old fashioned air about it, but perfectly pleasant and clean ( a lot of different floor levels, so access might be challenging for some). They have tour bookings, which might mean the restaurant can get busy. Car parking is a bit limited, and tight in places - so aim to arrive early! We enjoyed our short stay, along with dinner and breakfast.

This hotel is situated outside the main city of Clermont Ferrand in a quieter residential area. Parking is limited but the welcoming receptionist directed us to the back of the hotel where we could securely park our car overnight. The hotel has an old world charm and laid back ambience. The rooms are large with high ceilings and comfortably, but simply furnished. There was no fridge or kettle in our room. It is very close to a railway line but don't be put off by this - we only heard one train during our stay as it must be a branch line. We ate in the hotel's restaurant in the evening , which was busy with both guests and locals - always a good sign. There was a choice of 2 set menus or Al Carta. We had an excellent meal from the set menu which was beautifully presented and served. Highly recommend staying at this hotel as the food and service was excellent.

With a great French menu selection,also written in English, it’s a good local experience for under 50€ per head. Yes they served frogs legs. Delicious. A great cheese selection and good sorbet ends of the meal. The restaurant had a classy feel to it with a great view

I can't say enough good things about this hotel... Staff - the friendliest and most helpful ever Hotel & grounds - stunning. Very French in the best possible way Food - amazing. We ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant all 3 days of our stay and were delighted at everything. Great vegetarian options too. Rooms - beautiful with super comfortable beds and lovely, modern bathrooms. Summary: 10/10. I'd go back tomorrow. Thank you everyone who made our stay so perfect.

Très beau week end passé en cet hôtel.. tout était parfait : l’accueil, la propreté des chambres, la qualité des repas, le parking à l’hôtel .. j’avais oublié mon chargeur d’iPhone.. on me l’a renvoyé par courrier.. merci encore à tout le personnel

Un charme désuet délicieusement régressif et oui les lits sont toujours bordés avec des draps et des couvertures et nous adorons cela un accueil familial et personnalisé même en arrivant tard il est possible de dîner. Au restaurant nous retrouvons le charme de la tradition française grâce au professionnalisme de nos hôtes tant en cuisine que dans le service avec une pensée particulière pour Shiva dont nous apprécions l’humour, l’expérience et la compétence .Il sait toujours nous conseiller une bonne bouteille ou le choix d’un plat. Nous sommes bien loin fort heureusement des chaînes mondialisées et insipides. Nous recommandons chaleureusement .

Une halte en dehors du temps,très belle déco, beau mobilier. Une ambiance très agréable. Un accueil chaleureux. Au restaurant personnel très sympathique à l’écoute des clients. Nous conseillons cet établissement à tous les gens de passage à Clermont-Ferrand. Un point central pour visiter la chaîne du Puy et ses environs
