Staybridge Suites Phoenix - Chandler

This hotel is located close to the mall and not far from the highway. The lobby is modern and bright, and the staff is friendly. I felt safe in the area and parking my car in the lot. The room is modern looking, with a full kitchen and island bar set up. There is also a desk with a couch that is supposed to be a pull-out. The couch was the biggest negative of my stay. It was disgusting. The upholstery was coming off in places; it was stained, and there was no bedding to make it into a usable space. The room is advertised as having a pull-out couch, so logically, they would have bedding. The first night, my son went down to the front desk to get bedding and was told that there was none. The second night, I went down, and the staff member took me to the laundry to get bedding for the room. I was not told during check-in that there was no housekeeping during my stay. I later found out that since I arrived on Friday, the room would not be cleaned until my checkout on Sunday. The bathroom was fine, but the counter space for multiple people sharing the room was inadequate. The toilet still had yellow around the back parts, and I am a stickler for cleanliness, and that was a drawback. There were corners of the room where you could tell that there was wear and tear. There was also only one elevator for the entire hotel, so there was a line that was often waiting to use it. Thankfully, the stairs were wide and well-lit, so we were ok using them for the bulk of our stay. The location of the hotel was the biggest draw for me. The full kitchen and refrigerator were definite pluses. The couch and the beds definitely need to be replaced or refreshed.

If it wasn’t for Janet and the breakfast attendant, I’d give this place a 0/5. Janet was amazing at check-in and the breakfast attendant was so nice and accommodating. The breakfast options were basic. I stayed about two months ago and the breakfast had much more options. The room has crumbs on the carpet when we had checked in, and the toilet wasn’t cleaned. You can still see the chemicals dry on it. We asked a housekeeper if she can clean it and she said she couldn’t unless her manager told her to. Ok? After check out, we sent an email and voicemail to the General Manager Iris and still haven’t received a response after 2 weeks. Yup! Not staying here again.

As a regular, I’ve noticed this hotel has gone downhill in the past month. Not sure if they recently changed management but everything from their Happy Hour to their staff has been a mess. Might have to find a new place moving forward because my experience this time was very bad.

Probably the best IHG hotel I’ve stayed at. I would like to thank Dashaun, Jonathan, and Genesis for how amazing they treated my family while staying there. Breakfast was great and Genesis even made sure we had Kosher items for me and my family. It was such a great experience to feel noticed.

Stayed here for my sisters graduation. No service was given for our 5 day stay even after requested TWICE. The older lady with short black hair said it would get cleaned, and it didn’t. My father requested it again with the male at the front desk, once again, nothing since they had left for the day according to him. At check out the young lady offered us points and was nice but the same lady we had requested service with came and interrupted her and tried dismissing my fathers complaint. Our stay would have been fine if it wasn’t for that issue.

The only pro I will give this place is that the rooms are spacious and a good size for families. The blinds weren’t big enough to cover the windows. The shower is child size, came up to chest height for me, I’m 5’7”. I guess fortunately my 6’1” husband never got the chance to take a shower. During our stay a lot of unexpected issues arose at the hotel. The TVs went out and the hot water was out for more than 24 hours (before we left, it was definitely out for longer). These are out of the hotel’s control, I totally get that. What’s not out of their control is how they handle it. The hot water went out around 7/8am on our first morning there. We were told the repairs would happen between 10-3. I had to call the front desk at 5pm to get an update. They said up and running by 6pm. At 7pm when I called for an update they said 9pm. At 9pm, it became 10pm. Every time we called we were told it was fixed and they were just waiting on something “to flush the pipes, to dry a component, etc”. At 3:30am the fire alarm went off in the hotel and we went to the first floor to find a pipe had burst and the hallway was flooded. Still no hot water. The lady at the front desk was an entire horrible person about the event. Families coming down with kids and her attitude was “I didn’t do it, go back to bed.” In the morning we were told water would be back at 12pm and that a pipe had burst affecting all hotels on that block. Well given their track record of not providing accurate information we decided to fight for a refund and go to a different hotel. There’s no way a city block issue would be fixed in 4 hours when they couldn’t fix their own issue for the 24 hours before. We eventually found out from talking to other guests that they were not notifying people about any of the issues when they were checking in. And more than that, the water repairs were part of planned maintenance that again they didn’t tell anyone about. The rest of the issues were because the first crew messed it up. The TVs also went out at the same time and we were told it was a Cox outage. But when we chatted with Cox they said there was no outage in our area. Life happens, but how you communicate with paying guests is what sets you apart when that stuff happens. And this staff is NOT prepared. When we asked for management we were told over and over she would be back in the morning. How a manager could leave a hotel in such a state is beyond me. When we finally got the manager in the morning it was not a she and he said he was there all night dealing with the issues. Add it to the list of lies. I don’t even want to think about how disgusting their hands and laundry were with no hot water, a total health issue through and through.

Nice place you got here. The hotel is pretty clean in all aspects. The breakfast is great as well. Staff was very friendly and greeted me when I would leave and enter the building. Price was a bit steep but it’s the middle of Spring Training(reason we were in Arizona) so it makes sense.

Great place! Stayed here for Spring Training and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. Although the hotel is way older than other hotels, its staff, breakfast, and social make up for it. The hotel is well kept. Next year I’ll be staying here again for sure.

Was in Chandler to visit my friends. Not only was I impressed with my room, but so were my friends. Great place to stay at if you're coming to town. There's also a evening social that was an amazing bonus to my stay! Next time I'm in town I will most definitely be staying here.
