Chaoyi Minglin Mansion is a courtyard style inn of Chaozhou ancient residential buildings invested and operated by Chaoyi Minglin Mansion Tourism Management Co., Ltd. The original owner was Lin Xichun, the Minister of the Ming Dynasty. The mansion was built by Lin Xichun during his leisurely visit to the forest and has a history of over 400 years. The inn retains the traditional architectural layout of local ancient houses, providing customers with an immersive "museum" living experience. The Minglin Mansion faces west to east and is a three entry courtyard. On both sides of the main gate, there are standing stone drums and blue brick walls, granite, depicting traces of 400 years of wind and rain, exuding a strong historical charm. Chaozhou Gongfu Tea, Chaozhou Woodcarving, Chaozhou Ceramics, Chaozhou Cuisine and other craft and cultural imprints are scattered throughout every corner of the mansion. Through this model of Ming Dynasty mansion architecture, many aspects of Chaozhou culture can be read. The style of the guest rooms varies greatly, and the room names are all taken from Lin Xichun's poetry, reflecting the basic concept of "bringing poetry into life" in homestays. The rationalization of the interior of the mansion and the appropriate introduction of modern facilities have also made the living environment more elegant and comfortable.

We liked everything about this refurbished mansion, keep the old structure and new interior for the room. The reception helped us with private car chartered, shared the history of this mansion, pretty nice of them. It's near to walk down the paifang street and others touristy spot too. Definitely recommended to others... :)

It worths every penny to have the chance to stay in a historical house. The architecture is beautiful. It is nestled in the old town within walking distance to all sightseeing places. The room is cozy, bed is comfortable, service is good.

A tastefully restored ancient mansion, with modern facilities in each suite. Location is convenient in the old city, but still peaceful without much noise from the street. Beautiful inner courtyard to drink tea and rest after a day of sightseeing. Service was helpful and attentive; the best way to contact them before arrival is by Wechat. Only limitation is that direct dropoff by vehicle is not possible because of location, and entryway has steps.

Totally enjoyed my stay at the 400 year old home to a Ming dynasty governor official. Although the loft style accommodation is a little small, the beddings are so comfortable that it provided high sleep quality. We even bought 8 pillows from them to bring home!
The people running the place, Xiao Lee, Xiao Weng and a part time gentleman (can’t remember his name now) were very hospitable and helpful, making sure we have what we needed and also get to discover chaozhou like a local.
As I have been to Chaozhou before, the team mapped out a discovery route for me to explore beyond the usual touristy itinerary. Really appreciate Xiao Lee’s recommendation to a tea house which includes a short opera and pipa performance. The part time guy’s recommendation to a local oyster omelette joint was the highlight of our food trail. When I needed help to bring my luggages to the main road, Xiao Weng send them with his bike, and went beyond to hunt the didi down to make sure the luggages are loaded before we get to the didi. They stay at Ming Lin Mansion made our trip truly unforgettable.
Having said all these, there are a few minor areas for the mansion to improve. While it is a high tech set up, some of the remote controls for the auto curtains didn’t function as they should. The stairs to the loft bedroom can be a little tricky (need to navigate carefully when turning corner), so please be careful when heading down to the living area.
Apart from all these, overall it is fantastic stay. Thank you Teochew Minglin Mansion and the team for their warmth in making my stay in Chaozhou an enjoyable one!

Location and the beauty of the accommodation is what attracted me to book in the first place. After 5 nights here, hospitality of the staffs touches me. They make sure that guests are well taken care of making us feel at home. Will definitely stay again when I visit Chaoshan

As this booking was for our relatives, they would like to share that they like this hotel so much that they said they would be coming back for another stay. The hotel location is near the tourist street , so it is located in a very good location. The 2 bedroom 1 living room duplex is our favourite room as it allows the family to gather in the living room to chat.
