Very happy to return and make good our promise from 2018. We took a room in the main building this time, which suited us very well. The place remains as characterful as we remember, and the restaurant was almost as good as last time. Our only disappointment this time was the weather. Staff are friendly and welcoming. We would recommend, even in the face of some of the mixed reviews on here (you can't please everyone).

Hotel in good conditions and very lovely people . Nice for a week to rest. Good restaurant and excellent wine choice.

Lovely old Chateau with great staff and a fabulous restaurant. Just a one night stay for us as part of a 'grand tour'. Set in a wonderful village on the banks of the river with an old mill with lots of history. Loved it.

Before booking this hotel, read the reviews. Our bad experience isn't a one off. We were looking forward to our stay in a Château and a gormet dinner. The reality was a window less room, with tired decor, and no table in the restaurant. The staff didn't seem bothered we were bitterly disappointed. So, after a 7 hour drive to get to this isolated Château, we had to get back in the car and went looking for somewhere to eat. So, that was our experience. It's your call.

We stayed here for one night on a road trip back to the UK. We stayed in a "castle room", and although we very much enjoyed our stay, we would say that the rooms are somewhat dated and in need of a bit of love. However, that did not bother us as it was clean and comfortable. I imagine that the rooms in the modern extension may be quite different. Our check-in experience was very friendly and we were taken to our room. We were out of season, so the cost seemed very fair. We had dinner in the restaurant and thought it was fantastic! For this reason alone, we will definitely be going back.

The staff were very friendly checking us in. Apart from the front desk, most people were not too comfortable speaking English but everything were conveyed quite well. The food in the restaurant was also quite good. The rooms were nice and comfortable although they didn’t have an iron in there but I think the higher grade rooms does have this. The scenery around the buildings are very beautiful with the river right next to it.

What a beautiful location, stayed in the chateau in an attic room. Some low beams at 6’3 not an issue. Room was lovely, not a great view from the window but extremely comfortable, good A/C which was required as temperatures in 30’s. Used the outdoor pool which was lovely as the temperatures very hot for September, the outdoor seating is very pleasant had a couple of drinks and the service was friendly and helpful. Had a walk around the spa which looked to have everything you would want. We booked a table for our evening meal which was on the terrace, opted to have set menu of four courses however you receive several tasters before your meal so ends up seven courses. We ate everything as the food was exceptional. Had a couple of bottles of wine at €20 a bottle which I thought was great value as a pint was €9. Breakfast in the morning was not included but we opted to pay and again the choice was excellent value. From the minute we arrived till we left the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, can highly recommend.

The hotel is very nice, service is good and the food is very good as well. We stayed various times in this hotel. Mostly, very good experience, this was not the case now. About 22.30 our toilet stopped flushing. After asking at the reception, our room was changed. Early morning tried to make a coffee, but coffee machine was not working. After reporting this to the reception, we got a "discount on the breakfast" of 9 euro... As i mentioned to the receptionist, i do not thinks those 9 euro represent a compensation to the problems we had. In a similar 4* hotel, we would probably be offered at least the full value of the breakfast. I just leave it here for the hotel management to see why customers that value this place use their time to help them improving. A 4* hotel could do better.

Good value, comfortable and quiet hotel. Very good restaurant for breakfast and dinner with pleasant and attentive staff. Mixed business and family guests but quiet and well appointed room. Lovely garden and relaxing, outdoor swimming pool in a lovely quaint village.

What does perfection look like? Can you name a hotel that you want to return to every year. With perfect gardens, perfect staff, beautiful food, and every attention to detail taken care of. If that is what you are seeking, in a gorgeous quite place, come and visit Château du Clos de la Ribaudière and have dinner in the stunning restaurant. We love it here.

My husband brought me here for a little getaway to celebrate my birthday. The first day I was in the spa. I enjoyed the pool quite a bit and the spa staff were all very nice. I did have a massage and while it was fine, I disliked having the fragrance sprayed at me at the beginning and end, especially having learned that their products (cinq mondes) contain endocrine disrupters and I’m pregnant. The room was musty and old smelling, and the heating/air conditioning system didn’t work. The windows were covered in mold from excess moisture. I also found the extra pillowcases were dirty so we had those replaced. The worst part of our stay was the service. While I believe they were trying, the staff lacked attention to detail. Dinner was a disaster. My husband was served his wine after his main course, and it took 30 to 40 minutes between courses for our cheese to arrive. By this time we needed to leave. Our 6 year old was upset because his dessert took just as long, and it was already 9 or so (I recognize this isn’t necessarily late for French families). As we were leaving, the server appeared with my dessert and sparkler (happy birthday!) and it was all very embarrassing and uncomfortable. We ended up finishing in our room. That night I was up all night with terrible stomach ache and in the morning learned that they had offered us gluten free bread containing eggs, which I’m allergic to. At this point I’d had enough but when we spoke to the manager the following day, she apologized but didn’t seem very empathetic (perhaps cultural) making excuses like “we couldn’t have imagined there would be egg powder in the bread”, minimizing it in using the word “traces”, but did comp 50% of our meal. I guess overall, I feel they staff and management needed to be far more attentive to detail. A day later we had an seamless stay at another hotel and I don’t feel our time here was worth it. We came to mark a special occasion during a special time in my life, and we’re disappointed and I had an allergic reaction due to negligence. It takes very little to read the ingredients list and is in fact their responsibility! I recommend the spa for an afternoon but to stay/eat elsewhere.

We booked 3 rooms for my family and my father and we had tons of bad surprises: - by default nothing was possible with the employees at the desk - the art of complexifiying simple things - atmosphere where clients need to excuse themselves of being client - we had to pay 15 euros per person for the swimming pool whereas there is nothing written on booking and other reservation web sites, - we ordered a birthday cake and the team forgot and then mentioned that it was not possible anymore, - we had to pay 25 euros per persons extra per room because we did not mention that we would be three in a room where you have 3 beds... non sense is common sense at this hotel =＞ overall we had to pay 150 euros extra for fees that were not on the website - the room were dusty and pretty used - we had an awful view on the garbages and the smokig area for employees Only good: the service at the restaurant that were super helpful

Évasion gourmande au Château du Clos de la Ribautière - Teritoria Aujourd'hui, j'ai eu l'occasion de découvrir un restaurant qui mise sur la gastronomie et la présentation. La première impression est toujours marquante, et ici, la mise en scène des plats était à couper le souffle ! ️✨ Cependant, bien que le visuel ait été soigné, je dois avouer que je n'ai pas été totalement conquis par le plat. Peut-être un peu trop de mousse pour mon goût personnel ? Mais l'ambiance du château et le service attentionné ont tout de même rendu cette expérience agréable.
