Travelodge Chatham Maritime

We arrived after a 7 hour journey to be told that the hotel had been over booked and therefore there was no room available for us. Absolutely disgusted to say the least. Offered a room in another hotel 50 minutes drive away. Nobody senior to speak to and no real care from staff. This hotel was booked and paid for October 2024. This hotel is unreliable. What an unbelievable situation. Will never stay here again .

Although toom appeared clean and fresh, on closer inspection the bathroom left a lot to be desired. Although the inside of the hotel was quiet ( thee was hardly anyone on my floor ) the outside was not. Seems like gangs of workmen stay there who are outside shouting and laughing at 6am getting ready to drive off in their vehicles. Then there were the collection of men outside every evening drinking and making a noise. I didn't use the bar or breakfast offers as it was all quite intimidating as a solo woman traveller trying to mind her own business. I wouldn't recommend staying here as a solo woman at all and I genuinely felt uncomfortable there fir the reasons mentioned. Apart from that- and the lack of tea making facilities to help yourself to, the room entry cards not working nearly every time and air conditioning not great- I can say the bed was comfy!

I've stayed in a fair few Travelodges over the years and will rarely ever write a review, however Lacey deserves a special shoutout - by far the friendliest and most helpful member of staff I've ever come across out of all the hotels. A real credit to the team - thank you :)

The bar anf reception lady lacey is very helpfull and the Cook lucia is so helpfull and her food is amazing they allwsys ask how are day id and make sure we sre havibg a good time

The room was nice (second room as couldn't get into the first as keycards - many tries - didn't work). It meant going up and down in the lift and queuing at reception to try to get a card that worked. None did, so we got moved. Others had the same problem - why don't they check these things before check-in? The aircon wasn't working in room 510 - it was stuck on 23 degrees. Saturday night was boiling. I asked at reception in the afternoon for them to sort it, but no-one did. Poor maintainence - not good. I've stayed here before and it was ok. I'm not sure I'll bother booking again.

Lovely welcome, Hughe on reception was very helpful and welcoming! Great hotel and location! Would be happy to stay again! Family and pet friendly too! Seemed a very well run place with people who actually care about their job which is rare in some budget hotels!
