Ibis Styles Chaves

So far the best Ibis hotel I have stayed at. The building is beautiful, stylish and super central. Very comfortable lounge to relax, friendly staff. Rooms were very comfortable and well designed. Breakfast was simple but very good and served in a room with many archeological sites.

All we needed was a place to stay on our way to Braganca from Porto. I've booked this Ibis without even checking reviews. Ibis is usually a safe choice, nothing amazing, but does the job. And then.. the buidling from the outside is marvellous! We managed to park the car just outside. Room on the back, with a small balcony, was very comfortable. I especially liked the breakfast room downstairs, with preserved medieval pieces underneath the glass floors. Food OK, nothing extraordinary but sufficient. Definitely a great choice to stay. Also, Chaves itself is a hidden gem and not to be missed!

We only stayed one night as part of a longer N2/Portugal tour road trip but if I could give a mark more than excellent I would. We were so very impressed with this hotel - one of the best surprises of our trip. That ibis can take an old building, bring it back to life and turn it into a hotel without charging people a load of money to stay there is fantastic. Well done Ibis :=) We won't be returning to Chaves since it was part of our longer trip but we will definitely be looking out for Ibis Style in the future. Our room wasn't enourmous, but everything we needed was in there with storage for clothes and a very comfy bed - we both had a good sleep. Bathroom was good with a big walk in shower and plenty of hot water.

I have stayed in Ibis hotels before and they are good value . I didn’t realise what a step up the ibis styles is. In particular the staff could big have been more welcoming and helpful / they really couldn’t do enough for me to help prepare my bike for the start of the N2 ride. Highly recommended.

We had a great stay in an excellent IBIS Styles hotel, in a surprising and historic town. Staff spoke English well and was very helpful, went to great lengths to inform us. We had very nice and personal conversations. Thank you so much!
