A lovely hotel on the edge of Chefchaouen. It was beautifully decorated - loved the traditional Berber vibe, but it still felt modern and quaint. The hotel terrace has a wonderful view of the mountains and they served a nice breakfast in the morning. The staff are very friendly - would highly recommend!

The hospitality at Dar El Rio was incredible. The owner, Mohamed Ali and all the staff were very warm, went out of their way to make my family comfortable (I was travelling with my parents and parents in-law who are all senior citizens) and were super attentive to their needs. It is rare to have such consideration extended and it was done effortlessly, with a smile. The breakfast was generous and excellent, served on the terrace with a stunning view. Recommendations for lunch and dinner were also spot on. Oh- and we all loved the playlist and the music in the reception. If you're looking for warmth, comfort and a feeling of being welcomed like family, Dar El Rio is the place to go to.

We stayed a night here on our guided tour of Morocco and had such a nice night. The staff was easily the best part of the stay. They were so kind, made the best recommendations, gave directions and just overall they were so hospitable. It was a quick 10 minute walk to the city. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was great and they had all the tv options including Netflix. The AC worked great and they had black out shades and curtains which made it so nice to sleep in a little! The wifi was strong and the rooms were so cute! What more could you ask for!!

What a great location very close to the Medina and the blue city colors. Manager was super friendly and made sure everything was good. View in the back is very nice from the rooftop. Kind’a funky decor but we felt very comfortable. There was also a nice restaurant right around the corner with a beautiful outdoor patio.

Terrible stay not recommended at all very dirty and not like what you see in the pic I would rat it below zero, find another hotel better. I cancel my booking from booking .com after I checked in.this is my 3rd visit to chefchaouen and this is the wort sty I ever see.

The hotel manager worked with me when I realized I booked the wrong days. We got there and the error was all my fault. He made magic happen. Breakfast was amazing also. 5 minute walk into the main Medina. Great place to stay. Our kids room was off the lobby and it was too cute. Like a log cabin!

Amazing visit and highly recommend this as a place to stay. Hicham, the manager, was a brilliant host and looked after us so well. Breakfast was great and wow, what a view. The location, is good for seeing all the beautiful sites around the city
