Premier Inn Cheltenham Central (West/A40) Hotel

Stayed on Mon 2/12. On a busy road but a good big free car park, helped for spaces by the fact that the adjacent TGI Fridays has shut down. Check-in chap was very friendly and very helpful. Up to the room which was standard Premier Inn albeit a bit tired. You know what you are going to get, a comfy bed, large TV, decent bathroom with a good shower. No de-caff and an obviously reduced tea/coffee selection in the room bit no biggie as they are available in reception No in-house restaurant and as above, the adjacent TGI has closed, I walked the 25 mins into town to meet family for a curry but I'm guessing for most, it's probably a drive or taxi into town or a delivery in. A good nights sleep followed. Breakfast was a highlight. Its a small breakfast room but perfectly formed. The chef (Joe I think) is a credit to the company. Genuine pride in his work without being pretentious and continually cleaning and tidying his workspace. Perfect poached eggs by Joe and all the other items were decent quality and well cooked. Easy, friendly check out and on my way. I'd stay again.

Mark was superbly helpful / first room was not ok, so he very quickly moved me to one which was ideal. He also helped me identify a local running route and was generally a real ambassador for good customer service - thank you! More generally it’s a good solid Premier Inn near the train station.

We always use this premier inn whilst visiting our son at Cheltenham University. Staff are always helpful and free car parking aswell. I would advise booking breakfast as the room is small. Room are tidy and have the usual premier inn qualities you expect

No power for 12 hours, no hot water. Asked to move to a different premier inn but that wasn’t an option. Only 1 staff member in the hotel. Hotel room very dirty, mould all around the bath tub, all the products all had mould/dirt. Remote also very dirty with food & dirt on it. My experience of this hotel was absolutely disgraceful

Good location just away from the busy centre with own parking; centre is 20 min walk or short taxi ride. Rooms are clean and spacious with ample storage for short stays. Beds are very comfortable. Staff are very welcoming and always willing to help. Breakfast was excellent with some items cooked to order. Caters for different food requirements.

Despite the lovely, friendly staff, this place was sadly in need of a really good upholstery and carpet clean. The smell was not great, the initial room allocated absolutely stank, the second room allocated was much better but the building is poorly insulated and noisy - both from internal factors and external. If you book, choose a top floor room to the rear.
