Cherokee Lodge

Close to the National Park. Comfortable bed and working HVAC and TV. Very good restaurants in walking distance. The first person at the check in desk was helpful and nice. No cleaning service and multiple requests to get toilet paper. Lamp electrical outputs and toilet paper holder broken. Non-working fan in the bathroom leaving the whole room damp after a shower. Cherokee Lodge can be equated to the same lack of service that is received in an Airbnb/VRBO rental.

Bedbugs in the room, I cannot recommend this hotel. The staff yelled at my husband when we arrived in the hotel. asking if he needs help and my husband said we are checking in. He then again yelled again that check in is not until three. We arrived around 1:30pm because I had asked the hotel for an early check in and they said yes. atleast in one of the 3 rooms that I booked for my parents, grandma and siblings to stay because I have another rooms booked in Great smokies hotel. We we’re able to check in early and that was ok, we let that rudeness be because negativity won’t do good. Then I got a phone call from my mom early morning saying that my sister’s room have bedbugs and that my bro in law got bitten so they started packing and instead and not go back to sleep. My husband and I went and showed the staff the pictures and he started being nice to us and helpful after he saw those pictures. When we finally checked out he he refunded the room that had bedbugs on them. Since there’s nothing they can do but try to do their job, I guess. I wouldn’t have had a bad review if it wasn’t for these incident. I will never come back here. It’s disappointing.

Spent two nights at the Cherokee Lodge and very disappointed that when I called about lost luggage about 3 hours after leaving, they put my luggage in the trash. Who does that ? Very sarcastic staff when I inquired about this because of the concern I had about my Ipad in the luggage. They could care less, and never mind about my clothes I lost. They should not be able to get away with this but now I'm 600 miles away, what can I do? Very unprofessional and a disgrace.

Good dog-friendly option in Cherokee with excellent location. 2nd floor has a ramp so no lugging stuff upstairs. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Amenities included a small refrigerator, coffee maker....all the usual expected stuff. Basically this is a somewhat dated property that has been renovated & refreshed, but still has same room footprint. Price is good, and we got to have our travel pup with us...so no complaints.
