Marina Bay Hotel & Suites, Ascend Hotel Collection

Location was very good, staff was great. What needs to be worked on is the breakfast, what was offered with a $15.00 voucher was near nothing. The bathroom needed to be addressed with what appeared to be a light case of mold behind the silicone. LVP would be a better option than carpet.

Well to start the trip we arrived an upon checking in we were hassled about our stay, the first 2 days were paid for an the additional 6 nights were paid by points. ( i spend over 250 nights per year in choice hotels for my business ) . They wanted us to vacate the room an re check in after day 2, but we're told when we booked over the phone that we could stay in same room the entire stay since we had booked same room type. Room wad plain an carpet was tore an stained, pained beat up furniture. Tried to also get a cot for a child that we were promised before arrival an it took 2 days an 4 requests. Day 3 we were at the beach an recieved a call from Lois ( general manager ) telling me we needed to leave the beach an come to the hotel an move into a standard room she said the owner changed the policy that day that points rooms were only standard no suites. I told her it was booked as queen suite through choice an thier hotel an 3 adults an 2 children were not going to a standard room an I refused to move. Lois continued to demand an be unprofessional till she realized I was not moving an told her it's between choice an the owner. She then reluctantly kept us where we were. From then on all employees were rude an nasty with ecption of one young gal with long dark hair an glasses she was good an should be the manager. Alison ( desk Mgr) was very rude an disrespectful also Lois the GM , an the Blonde desk gal was rude an could have cared less. Tried to have room cleaned an towels replaced but had to go down an get towels daily an they never cleaned the whole week. Breakfast was a joke $15 daily voucher for 5 people, banana, coffee an a cold breakfast sandwich was $15 had to pay for rest. Ice machine broke said been months. The excuse for cleaning issues were short of help! At $350 per night I do not take excuses. A super 8 anywhere is better. Avoid this rotten place at all cost.

Having stayed on the island a couple of times before I'm different hotels, I wanted to try this one. I am so glad we did. The lobby was clean and inviting. The receptionist was so sweet and welcoming. Just what you need after a tiring drive. The room and bathroom were quite spacious. The three of us weren't on top of each other. We didn't end up walking, even though we could have for some of the time. It rained one of the days. At any rate, the hotel is within walking distance of some of the restaurants. Plus, it's a great area to get nice beach town photos, if you're into that. If you're into and able to walk, then around the corner on that main street are more restaurants, mini golf, beach stores, etc.. It all depends on your activity level. There is a bar, fitness center, and a pool. We didn't end up using any of them. There is also a place to sit and eat. I thought it was a little odd because we didn't see a restaurant or breakfast area. As we were checking out, we did notice the an open door that led into the room to get breakfast; however, it wasn't complimentary. That was the only downside. Since we weren't expecting the hotel to have breakfast, I'm not deducting my rating for it. Just know, it's not free (at least not at the tike of this review). I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Very pleased with the accommodations. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good, with plenty of choices. Great outdoor sitting area with firepits. Only two problems: the East side of the building has horrible view. Second issue is that there were no grab bars in shower.

Overall decent hotel and good location. Room appeared to be clean other than soiled carpet with one large stain that made me not want to be in room without shoes. Not really fond of the balconies with no privacy. On the balcony you could basically see everyone else on the balcony and in the case of my room could not even leave the curtains open because other rooms could look right in room for their balcony. Basic breakfast that was ok.

Excellent accommodations - just what we asked for. Pleasant and efficient staff - all of them! Even though they were working on and through the Thanksgiving weekend they all had a smile and were courteous and helpful. Full breakfast every day and coffee 24/7. We will definitely stay there next trip to Chincoteague and recommend it to family and friends! One employee said it was easy to be as Carla, the manager made working there so pleasant.

Comfortable room with king bed and very clean. People at the desk were friendly and gave good suggestions for what to see and where to find good restaurants. Nice place in November, but better place to stay when it's warm

Spotlessly clean hotel with a really nice breakfast included. An incredibly comfortable bed. Only issue we had was being woken up at 3am from someone coming back and waiting for an elevator. Not the hotels fault and you can't mitigate for inconsiderate people.

We had the pleasure of spending a few days in Chincoteague at the Marina Bay Hotel and absolutely loved it. The hotel itself was very clean, quiet and had the most comfortable beds and pillows with a beautiful few. The location was very central to. everything. We did have a minor issue with our room's HVAC system not cooling properly and this was rectified immediately by Lois, Gilbert and the front desk staff. They were awesome and managed to work their magic to make our stay outstanding by dong some rearranging that proved to be a wonderful upgrade. The breakfast was hot and wonderful and the coffee was excellent. By the time we left, we felt like family. We will definitely be coming back to Chincoteague and we will of course stay at the Marina Bay Hotel.
