Xia Xiyou River View Inn (Chongqing Jiefangbei Chaotianmen)

I recently stayed at a hotel in Chongqing that offered a mixed experience. On the positive side, the location was excellent—situated conveniently near major transport links, restaurants, and attractions like Jiefangbei and Hongya Cave. It made exploring the city incredibly easy, and the surrounding area felt vibrant and safe, even at night. The hotel itself was clean, modern, and nicely decorated. The rooms were comfortable, with good amenities and a great view of the city skyline. It had all the potential to be a fantastic stay. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. Staff at the front desk were unhelpful and seemed disinterested in assisting guests. Check-in was slow and disorganized, and requests for basic information or help (such as directions or help booking a taxi) were often met with vague responses or ignored altogether. Housekeeping was inconsistent, and I had to call multiple times to get extra towels. Overall, while the hotel scores high on location and comfort, the poor service significantly detracted from the experience. With improved staff training and better customer service, it could easily become one of the better places to stay in Chongqing. For now, I’d only recommend it to travelers who prioritize location over hospitality.

This hotel is really beyond my expectations. You know how good and comfy it is? It made me miss my day-trip train to Wulong because I just wanted to sleep! 😂 Really recommended—it's easy to find, the owner was really helpful, and it's close to Chaotianmen Metro. I’ll definitely stay here again!"

I booked this hotel mostly for the view (I saw some tiktok video about this place). The photo are describing the reality... it has an incredible view with this big window and the room is very well decorated. On the ground floor you can find nice restaurant and shops open until late.

Place worth every dollar for the view room clean free water , bad comfortable, One problem is stinks in bathroom after bath. Highly recommended place and not expensive
