Sheraton Chongqing Hotel recensioner

The Sheraton, Chongqing is an impressive, golden building visible, making an impressive landmark by the side of the river. Upon arrival, we were very pleased to be upgraded to an executive room including use of the Executive Lounge, providing complimentary drinks and snacks. Our room was large, comfortable and lavishly decorated. The separate bathroom had a large shower room as well as a separate bath tub, although whilst this was deep enough, it was very short and I couldn’t really fit in it without folding my legs up or having them dangling over the end of the tub. Unfortunately, there was a particularly nasty smell coming from the toilet for the duration of our 4 night stay. The breakfast was very good, and I even managed to get soft-yolked eggs if I managed to catch the chef at the right moment in his over-cooking of all the other eggs. Sadly, my quest to find good bacon in a hotel in China is yet to be achieved. What was labelled as ‘crispy bacon’ was neither crispy, nor was it bacon. I continue to live in hope.

Hotel Not bad smells, it's old but well taken care of, very clean. Check-in The checking was horrible, they asked us 3 times if we're together and we kept repeating that we're married and this is our son. The receptionist even pointed out at another child standing in line, asking if he was our child. We told her in Chinese and English we're a family. A very humiliating experience, the people standing in line next to us were laughing the whole time at the situation. Rooms The first room we got had broken plumbing, the feces smell woke us up at night, it was unbearable. In the morning the staff came to check and agreed that the room was unusable. We got upgraded into a bigger room immediately. The rooms are clean. Cleaning staff Very nice. Breakfast Unimaginative. Typical hotel breakfast not a big variety of dishes but ok. The coffee is actually good. Staff They help guests with luggage and are friendly. Gym Fantastic, has all the equipment needed for strength training. Swimming pool Clean, big, swimming staff is very nice.

It’s a very nice and spacious hotel with an old style design and a river view. Perfect choice for Chongqing marathon or half marathon.

The worst experience of my life .. extremely noisy, you cannot sleep later than 7:00 am because there will be noises of their workers and Chinese people talking loudly in the corridor, no one is available to communicate in English. The staff on the front desk, gives wrong information. The deposit that you pay at the time of check in, make a lot of deductions by miscommunication. My experience: I booked the package that included two breakfast. I asked their duty manager ( the only lady that front desk officer asked me to communicate since they assume, she can talk in English) . I asked her if I can have the breakfast in my room and will that be covered by the package I bought? And with full confidence, she said : yes , it’s ok . At the time of check out, they deducted a lot of money from my deposit and when I asked , they said the payment of breakfast had been deducted that was provided to your room. Although, I clearly mentioned that your duty manager told me that it will be included in my package, they totally denied by saying that do you have any proof ? Well, I am a regular traveler and that’s my concern that why don’t they record the calls ? I suggest all the foreigners to never ever stay in that hotel .
