The location was great, in town but very quiet. Very clean and tidy. Will definitely visit again. The food at the restaurant was great.

Accommodation is centrally situated and very close to restaurants and shops. Golden Gate drive is lovely with breathtaking views.

Beautiful room with everything one could need. We also used the restaurant for our meal and had a wonderful evening with excellent food. Highly recommended.

Great location right near the square, lovely view and very clean! Very easy to find, check in and check out and comes with a braai. Perfect for 2 people.

The receptionist was not friendly, upon discovering that the room we had booked was not available he said there's nothing he can do and sent us away to some old house at the back of the facility. The door was not closing properly and the carpets were dirty. The location of unit 10 is not safe, its opposite a dark open field where one needs to get out the and open the gate manually, we were scared to drive out at night.

We had a fantastic stay at Clarens Retreat during our recent family holiday. The accommodation was excellent, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Its perfect location made it easy to explore the area, and our family loved every moment. Highly recommended for a getaway in any season!

We stayed in a spacious apartment around the corner from the main property. It had everything we needed for our overnight stay and was spotlessly clean. We booked dinner at the restaurant and it was exceptional. The chef (Francois) is very talented and welcoming. Highly recommend if you can get a booking. The restaurant is separate from the guesthouse and booking for a meal is essential. It wasn’t a problem but in our unit (the Queen suite) the shower was in the bathtub. Just mentioning this for those oldies who might find this a bit of a problem.

We've stayed at Clarens retreat a while back and loved it. My partner has kept their business card in her wallet ever since. Rooms are nice and modern with all the amenities needed. First floor rooms have a beautiful view of the mountains from the balcony where you can relax with your morning coffee. Underfloor heating was a very welcome addition to the room with snow falling outside. If you're booking a trip to Clarens, stay at the Clarens Retreat!
