Wonderful stay. A little disappointed about the view from the room but other than this, we appreciated the little touch of the mint on our pillow at night and the great breakfast. It’s a super convenient spot and would choose to stay again.

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly .Breakfast was fresh and had a little bit of everything .Unfortunately for my partner and I ,we booked the hotel because of it’s amenities ,upon out arrival we got the news that the hotel is doing some refurbishments therefore we couldn’t use the amenities we booked the hotel for .I suggested that we at-least get upgraded as we are unhappy,but nothing of that sort happened .So I was very unhappy that the hotel couldn’t at-least meet us half way.They just said the site I booked at need to take full responsibility for not notifying me of the refurbishment.

We stayed for one night and could not fault the hotel. We had a mountain room view, which was very comfortable and well maintained. It is a stylish hotel with lovely public spaces. It is large by Clarens standards, and right in the centre of town. Staff were friendly, and the food (dinner and breakfast) was very good. We’d happily stay there again.

We picked Protea Clarens for a short stay for one night as we were travelling from Drakensberg over to Bloemfontein. The receptionist was nice, the room - fresh and spacious, we had everything we needed. The view from the balcony was amazing. On top of the fact that there was a guarded parking, we were able to walk everywhere in Clarens, which was super convenient. Can't comment on breakfast as we didn't have one.

This is a gorgeous hotel with a bespoke upmarket feel. The hotel is situated in the heart of the beautiful village of Clarens. We had a mountain facing balcony room, which was an absolute delight. Stunning views of the Maluti /Drakensberg mountain range. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Good hotel. The staff were friendly and it is nice and central in town for shops, bars and restaurants, easy parking, breakfast OK though not outstanding. Everything was clean and beds were comfortable. All good, we would stay again if in the area

My wife and I were very happy with our stay in Clarence the hotel is within two minutes walk of the town centre the staff were very friendly, good vegetarian options for breakfast and good quality Wi-Fi- all at a very good price. They also have very secure car parking.

Beautiful Hotel! Well situated, lovely and comfortable rooms, amazing breakfast and the staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. We also had a beautiful view from our room. Safe and secure parking.
