Hilton Garden Inn Clarksburg Bridgeport

This is a second review of this property, and this time I'm giving it another star--up from 4 to 5--because it seems my earlier concerns were addressed. The staff--with one exception--is much friendlier and helpful. Housekeeping is better. The pool and spa are very nice, and the hot tub was (appropriately) hot this time.

Room 421 smells. Kitchen closed an hour early. Rude front desk agent advised the women in front of me anyone wearing a baseball cap must pay an extra deposit for damages that may incur. I was also charged that extra damage because i was wearing a cap. We arrived at 8:30 pm hoping to grab a salad for dinner after a long drive. Was advised that kitchen was closed because they would be busy tomorrow. That doesn't make any sense. They still had signs up saying that room service is available to 9pm. This is the second night in a row they closed the kitchen early. I really don't understand how Hilton can allow this. Considering quitting hilton all together and go back to Marriott.

Customer service was excellent. First person we met was Justin. He was so welcoming and friendly. Every time we saw him he was so polite. This hotel was pet friendly and I have a small dog and I love that he actually got down and played with my dog anytime he saw me and him coming through the lobby ❤️! Second there was Maddy. She took our breakfast orders and was just as polite and friendly. We had a big group and had 4 rooms, she interacted with the kids, and definitely met all of the adults needs. Justin and Maddy stood out and made our stay even better! The rooms were clean. The pool and jacuzzi was nice. The pool could of been a little bigger but the kids enjoyed it. The lobby was also clean, comfy, and nice. We played some family games the first night and enjoyed the bar. Lots of shopping plazas near by, great location.

Crazy bad customer service! Cannot overstate how poor the customer service is by the disinterested morning management. They obviously do not train the nighttime staff which was friendly and helpful. We booked two rooms, and because they were booked and paid for by the same person we were only allowed breakfast for one room. The hotel pool is non-operational, but they “haven’t updated the website.” Rooms are renovated and fairly clean but lights do not work, towels are not stocked, and as a bonus you will get a nice, loud wake up call at 7am by the window cleaning crew’s music which the TV cannot drown out and the front desk manager will not even apologize for. The customer service by hotel is a stain on the Hilton brand. Don’t waste your money.

Beyond disappointed after checking into this hotel. The pool and spa were not usable due to some event that happened with the sports team a week earlier this was not noted to me until I went to check in. No amenities were offered or any discount for this not being available to me, This hotel is apparently undergone some renovations, and they are terrible number one. There are no safes in the rope. The mini fridges do not have any freezer compartment. The room I had was a king overlooking the mountain which really overlooked the highway, but the room itself was set up such that it had a huge amount of wasted space a really long desk space about six or 8 feet long and a bed that sat in the middle of the room, completely ridiculous layout, uncomfortable, and wasted space. The television in the room, I couldn’t figure out how to work, so I called the front desk and she explained that none of the buttons on the remote actually worked except for the up and down they had basic cable that was all I wasn’t able to access even my own Netflix or cast off of my other device Really crappy. I wish I could think of something good to say about this hotel. But I’m unable to as the step the front desk staff that assisted me was completely unsympathetic and unhelpful to solve any of my problems or help me no worries Hilton Garden Ann I won’t be staying with you anymore not here or probably any other Hilton Garden Inn property.

This Hilton Garden Inn explicitly told me on check in they accept Hilton Gift cards. On check out they suddenly said they don't due to a system limitation. The manager on duty Brigitte couldnt care less about their problem and made me use another payment method despite specifically choosing a Hilton property to use Hilton Gift cards (shocking I know) Hotels should not be allowed to maintain the brand name if they don't follow brand rules. I will be asking corporate to look into this and that's why this is a one star hotel. The rest of this review is for the Clarksburg (non Hilton) Garden inn. It is a solid 4 star with large clean rooms and a nice breakfast option not unreasonably priced with very good service from the one waitress serving. If only they resolve their payment issues or decide it's not worth them being a Hilton brand....

We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed all interactions with stafff. The hotel was clean and up to date. Great location for restaurants and shopping and a beautiful patio area we enjoyed spending time with my mom there during our visit. We took advantage of the fitness room, indoor pool and indoor hot tub. They were clean and well maintained and we had the facilities to ourselves on a weekday.

Stayed here on our way to visit our daughter. It was very nice, clean and comfortable. The entire staff was very helpful and friendly. We made a reservation that included breakfast. Worth the price and the waitress was very attentive and helpful. Very nice stay!

Recently spent a night here as part of a weekend getaway. It was our first visit since renovations were completed. Our top floor king room was large, clean & quiet--perfect for us to relax and recharge. Nice to have both a microwave and mini-fridge. (It seems like so many hotels do away with those amenities when they upgrade their facilities.) Our only criticisms: 1) Except for checkout, staff we encountered seemed disinterested. (When you're a Hilton Honors Diamond Member, it's always nice to be greeted/recognized as such at check-in.) 2) The elevators could use some kind of floor mats. When we took one downstairs to go out to dinner, there were wet spots where other guests had been to the pool area on the first floor. It's a small thing, but would address a potential safety issue. 3) Limited selection of TV channels, along with a remote we found distracting--when you adjust the volume or change channels, you get a voice-over saying the volume or channel. Aside from that, this hotel is a good choice if you're traveling to the Clarksburg/Bridgeport area, with easy access from the interstate and a variety of shopping/dining options nearby.
