Fernhill House Hotel & Gardens

Darren and I had the privilege of getting married in Fernhill House on Friday, the 1st of November 2024. From start to finish their staff were exceptional on the day. But from the minute I spoke with Laura and Ann I knew that Fernhill house was the place for me and my family to celebrate one of the most important days of our lives. Ann was absolutely incredible to work with she is an exceptional worker. Her attention to detail is phenomenal. The whole O Neill family are incredible to be honest. From Michael carting us up and down, Neil directing the wedding ceremony and dinner reception. Teresa mending my wedding dress with her amazing seamstress skills. I cannot recommend Fernhill house hotel enough. To anyone reading this and wondering about where they should choose a venue heath my advice and go take a visit down to Fernhill. You will not be disappointed. The breathtaking gardens to the exceptional country house the whole place will blow you away. They have such amazing employees, I was amazed of how wonderful and helpful each and every staff member was for me and my family for our occasion. So I would like to begin to thank the chefs as the food was 5* our meal was incredible. Thank you to all the waitresses on our day that worked tirelessly. Our food was served by staff that were very friendly and timely, bar staff were amazing so polite and helpful. The lady’s at front desk were so attentive. The reservation manager Valda also made sure everyone was happy and that everything was correct with guest bookings. The House keeping team are impeccable they keep the hotel beautifully clean and well stocked. They provided for any need a guest would have. My husband Chris and I had our wedding in Fernhill on the 12th of October 2024. To say they went above and beyond is an understatement. From our first meeting with Ann, we knew we were in safe hands. We booked our ceremony celebrant, harpist, band, and photographer through their recommendations, and all proved to be perfect choices, who exceeded expectations in every way possible! All of our friends and family were so complimentary on everything, from the wonderful food, stunning surroundings, and the exceptional service provided by every member of staff. Laura who looked after us on the day is outstanding , Sinead and Valda were always so incredibly helpful on reception and Michael the night porter/bar man went above and beyond to provide help, and even gave us a few well sang songs at the end of the night. To be on a first name basis with everyone shows how intimate a venue Fernhill is. The O'Neill family should be so proud of the standard of event they deliver and of all of their staff. We were truly blown away, and from both of us, thank you so much for making our big day all the more special and for giving us the best memories.

My first ever TripAdvisor review I wrote was for Fernhill when I got married in the Hotel 9 years ago and to celebrate my 9th year wedding anniversary myself and my wife had only one place in mind when we flew into Ireland. Booking is advised long in advance if you ever want a meal in the restaurant. I tried booking 2months in advance for my wedding anniversary day but couldn't so had to settle for the following Day. Resturant was very clean and well maintained, I think my wife did find some random bits of food on the floor under her chair though. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. The Menu was all looking amazing but my wife and I decided on the day special of Turkey and Ham with Stuffing. - The ham and turkey was amazing, well cooked, easily breaks apart and was moist enough to be just right. Veg and mash, gravy amd cranberry sauce that came with it added to the amazing main course. We over did it with extra fries and onion rings only because eating the same kind of meal in other restaurants helped "fatten" the meal. But was not needed at all with this. After the main we ordered a desert. We thought we would get a lighter option after the main really filled us up, so we both picked the Eton Mess. That was a mistake, in a great way. Most Eton Mess's we eat are cheaper variations of the desert and very dry. This one was truly amazing and very filling. Loaded with strawberries throughout mixed well with cream and meringues this desert was very filling and we both walked away full to brim. Im glad we went back to Fernhill to celebrate our anniversary and was great to see the place still going from strength to strength. Still highly recommended! **Sorry if pictures have rotated wrong way, it's a known bug with Tripadvisor for years.

Lovely hotel, lovely food, and even nicer staff, especially Laura, would highly recommend for a break. Very relaxing and beautiful place to visit, Breakfast was excellent with a great selection, and evening meal was also excellent, would definitely go back.

Stayed for one night on my travels round. I called on the off chance and fortunately was able to book. Beautiful grounds with gardens that help supply the kitchen. My room was lovely and very comfortable. I had dinner there and had the best seafood chowder - would go back just for that! Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Hi guys, I have been meaning to message for the last year. We celebrated our wedding with ye on the 4th of August 2023. It was the most amazing day from start to finish. Fernhill staff were in a league of their own, everyone from the bar tenders to ann the wedding coordinator were just outstanding. Always asking if we needed anything, and checking in numerous times throughout the day. A year later all our friends and family are still raving about the day. The food was AMAZING, and Laura even took our little boy darragh for a walk around the gardens during the speeches. They were all just amazing. Leaving the hotel the morning after the wedding, felt like we were leaving friends. Thank you for everything. ESPECIALLY Ann, the wedding Co ordinater. She is outstanding at her job!! Keep doing what ye are doing, because it was the wedding of our dreams xxx
