During Thanksgiving week, my family and I decided to embark on an exciting adventure. We flew from Miami to Dallas and embarked on a road trip from Dallas to Los Angeles. On the third day of our journey, as we planned to visit White Sands National Park in New Mexico, we needed a place to stay overnight. Fortunately, Cloudcroft, a charming town just 15 miles to the east, had a delightful new lodging option known as the Grand Cloudcroft Hotel. Our experience at the Grand Cloudcroft Hotel was truly exceptional. The staff welcomed us with warmth and hospitality, making us feel right at home. The hotel's facilities were impeccably maintained, and even though the region had experienced a dry spell, we were treated to a light snowfall during our stay. Waking up to the serene beauty of the snow-covered Lincoln National Forest was a breathtaking sight. One of the features we appreciated was the 24-hour snack area, which offered a variety of options, including cereals, fresh fruits, yogurt, juices, and coffee. The included breakfast was a delicious spread, featuring scrambled eggs, sausage, and bacon, much to the delight of my son. With a check-out time of 11 AM, we decided to seize the day and explore the area before leaving. We took a leisurely stroll along the trestle trail and explored another scenic trail, even enjoying some hiking in the snow. Cloudcroft, with its picturesque charm, added to the overall experience. I wholeheartedly give the Grand Cloudcroft Hotel a five-star rating, and if our travels bring us back to Cloudcroft in the near future, there's no doubt that we will choose to stay at this splendid establishment once again.
