Bamboo Surf House - Walk to the Beach

I had a great time at Bamboo Surf House place. The staff (Chris, Marlen, Eli, Rod) is incredible and very helpful, they are very nice, easy to talk to and very friendly. They make everything possible in order for you to feel like home. Chris, the manager, also arranged among other things a taxi for to the airport after I checked out. Bamboo Surf House is a quiet, very clean, spacious and charming place. The place is at a perfect location where is very easy to get around by walk and especially for surf lovers because is very close to Hermosa beach (according to me one of the most wonderful natural white sand beaches in all of Costa Rica), where surf is possible for all levels. It is also very close to a small supermarket which was handy, and few steps to couple of restaurants/cafés. The food (breakfast and dinner) is prepared with love from Marlen and is absolutely amazing. Would absolutely recommend to stay there and I am looking forward to staying here again one day.

I felt like a queen staying at Bamboo for 2 weeks. I woke up every morning to rays of light peeking in through the bamboo window shades and just felt so much abundance here. It truly is a gorgeous space. Quite literally everything is made out of bamboo. The place is very clean, quiet, decorated with twinkly lights everywhere. The beds are cozy and the rooms are very spacious. There is a communal kitchen that's really nice and I found it very easy to navigate. Also, an amazing Italian restaurant and a super market within walking distance. **Very important for me being a remote worker: The internet was perfect! Never had any problems and I lead zoom calls with near 100 people sometimes. The beach is a short walk through the jungle away (about 5 minutes) backing right up to the best surf spot. I am a beginner at surfing and I found the waves to be amazing here for me. I felts safe. They set me up with a few 1:1 surf lessons and that was amazing. There's a gorgeous yoga studio there and daily yoga or workout classes which was a nice touch. Really there is not much I would complain about. I would say that it is a more quiet end of town so if youre looking for party life then it may not be here. If your intention is to connect with family, surf often, and be in nature then its perfect! I did go into Santa Teresa often via taxi.

We had a fantastic 5-night stay here over the shift to the new year! This is a small but beautiful place with delicious «family» dinners for all guests 5 days a week as well as delicious breakfasts and arrangements for surf lessons, board rental and yoga lessons at a yoga dock 10 mins down the beach. We booked the surf package, so we had 4 lessons included and were very happy with this! At full capacity we were only 7 guests at the camp, so it was nice and cozy. Maricel (the manager) was beyond helpful and accommodating, and her and the owner made sure we had a good time, including at New Year’s Eve. We are overall very happy! Beware that Bamboo Surfhouse is a ca. 50 min walk from Santa Teresa and taxis are up to USD 30 per way, but if you get to know the other guests and share taxis/rental cars this is perfectly fine. There are also a few nice lunch spots within walking distance as well as a mini market. Additionally, Playa Hermosa is absolutely beautiful and much less crowded compared to Santa Teresa, which may make it nicer for surfing 🌊

We spent 2 nights in the bamboo house and we loved it. The place is perfect for everyone who wants to be close to the beach and who wants to be surrounded by nature. Mary is very kind and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The rooms were cozy and new. We can fully recommend the bamboo house. Go there and enjoy, we did :)

If you're after a quiet, authentic Costa Rican surf experience, this is it. Wonderful accommodations and meals and you simply cannot beat the jungle location right next to the beach. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Was exactly what I was looking for in a place to recharge and reconnect.

Das Bamboo Surf House ist spitze und absolut zu empfehlen!! Besonders möchten wir hervorheben, dass die Mitarbeiter extrem freundlich und liebevoll sind. Die Lage ist ebenfalls sehr gut und die Zimmer sehr schön. Wir kommen wieder!
