Hotel Tropico Latino

We had the most glorious of times at Hotel Tropico Latino. This was my second time at Tropico Latino. It is rare that experiences live up to your recollections and memories of places, and Tropico Latino did so with flying colors. Santa Teresa itself is a dream—the water is perfect, the food is fresh, the people are kind, and the landscape is downright film-like. The team at Tropico Latino somehow made our time all the more special. We went to bed, and woke up with the sound of the ocean lapping at our door. We started our day with the hotel’s morning yoga, before taking our breakfast at the beach. The food was fresh and delicious, and the staff were our friends by the end of the trip. We spent the rest of our days there surfing on the water in front of the hotel, and taking advantage of the spa with deep tissue massages! In the last 7 or so years, I have stayed all across Santa Teresa in various hotels and airbnbs. Since finding the gem of Tropico Latino, I will stay no where else! It is oh so perfectly located, right on the beach and a safe haven from the bustle of the town.

The resort is located on the beach so the views from the bar/ restaurant and rooms are amazing. The site has lovely gardens and lots of trees providing valuable shade from the heat of the day. The resort is staffed by local Costa Ricans which was fantastic. The service was excellent and friendly and the food tasty. Our room (15) was spacious, has great air conditioning, and a lovely balcony with hammock for relaxation. The yoga class was bliss. Tropical Latino is located on the main road through Santa Theresa, so restaurants, boutiques and coffee shops are very accessible.

We were all on a yoga retreat from South Carolina. We were treated like queens. The location on the ocean was exquisite in addition to the customer service, professionalism, our accommodations at Hotel Tropico was outstanding!! We totally enjoyed our meals/juices/cocktails at the Shambala restaurant !! Highly recommend!!

The location is great, located near walkable restaurants, bars, surf shops, and boutiques, but you hardly have a reason to leave the property. The restaurant was the best value out of all the restaurants we tried, with good drinks and great breakfast and smoothies. Yoga classes were lovely and so convenient. The couples massage was heavenly! Guadalupe in reception is wonderful and so helpful, and the entire staff was very welcoming and accommodating. Very difficult to improve on the Tropico Latino!

Beautiful setting, right on the beach. Spa treatments, especially the Lomi Lomi massage and the thermal circuit, were marvelous. The staff at the restaurant were particularly helpful. In fact, everyone was gracious, friendly and helpful. Our room was. Rey nice.

The entire experience at the Tropico Latino is absolutely top notch. The restaurant staff worked hard all day long. We especially enjoyed the breakfast!! The rooms were cool in the afternoon with nice AC units and well kept. The stars of the show were Guadalupe and Andry in the front office. There’s nothing we found they won’t or can’t do. Guadalupe greeted us late our first night upon our arrival with a smile and escorted us to our room. First thing next morning, Guadalupe was there with a smile ready to help our every wish come true. She helped us with excursions, dinner reservations, surf lessons, board rentals, board rental returns, local knowledge, and all information regarding Playa Santa Teresa. We didn’t have our own transportation but didn’t seem to need it because the Tropico Latino is in the perfect location. However, there seemed to be plenty of parking and ATV rentals were delivered to the property. We really can’t say enough great things about this location. Highly recommended!!!!
