The Labouring Man

A perfect stay in this traditional pub with rooms. We were visiting a gallery in Petworth and it was the perfect spot - close by but easily accessible. You would never know you were close to a main road, the settings are very peaceful. Twin room was clean and tidy and well equipped with a little dressing table. Lovely hot shower and comfy beds. Breakfast was lovely and we had an evening meal in the pub too which was gorgeous. Will stay again.

Stayed for one night with my son in room number three, lovely room, fantastic breakfast, will definitely visit again this great highly recommended B&B/pub. Repeat visit to this friendly pub. Food and atmosphere were good. But I don’t go for a meal with friends and have to listen to a baby crying and crawling around the restaurant floor. Unhygienic and inappropriate. The baby should have been in bed.

Great stay here for a family wedding, room was great value, staff were so accommodating with nothing too much trouble and good food. Had everything we needed for a short visit. Only complaint would be breakfast ended at 9.15, but let’s be honest that’s a first world problem!

Spent 3 nights here to attend a wedding close by. Room was spacious and beautifully decorated and had everything we could possibly need. Breakfast was amazing, the atmosphere in the bar was really friendly, all of the staff were fantastic, especially the hosts Martyn and Lynn who couldn't do enough for us. Thanks for looking after us so well. We would definitely stay here again.

Spotlessly clean room and bar. Dining was excellent. Breakfast was excellent. The beer was lovely. Nice beer garden and smoking area. Very friendly staff and customers. Would highly recommend it to my friends and Looking forward to my next visit

My wife & I went for lunch today(14th Feb). We both had ham, egg & chips with side of onion rings for mains.Steph had sticky toffee pudding & I went for crumble as desert. All very good. Both the staff were very attentive & really helpful. We would both recommend this pub for a super meal, & great staff.

Booked in for 1 night and went for the cheapest option on *********** due to it being Goodwood FOS weekend so wasn't sure what to expect. I have to say I was blown away. From the moment we arrived the service was amazing, we were made to feel very welcome. Our room was lovely. Tastefully decorated and clean 👌 It had everything we needed and more. The shower was amazing, no little trickle of water here. Bed was a little soft for our tastes but ok for 1 night. The food was absolutely delicious both in the evening and breakfast. Can't recommend this place highly enough would definitely stay again.

A real hidden gem. Very welcoming, good honest food, pleasant garden and frequently staff. Would def recommend. Clean tidy and nice location. Will be back for sure. Dog friendly, and its obvious they care.
