MEININGER Hotel Köln West

Great stay for a family. Room spotlessly clean when we arrived and plenty of room for our family that was using it as a base for days out and about around Köln and surrounding areas. Felt like a very safe and secure place / area. Communal spaces also brilliant. Buzzing atmosphere with a bit of good music. Well behaved groups and families. Great game collection, small bar and coffee area. Not a party hotel, justa really good casual and fun vibe - which is good for us as a family Kitchen is large and very well equipped BUT can get very busy. Having said this - was great area to meet people from all around the world. It's cleaned and all unlabeled food removed overnight. So always label food clearly with stickers provided. Reception always well staffed. Most staff members were very good. Had one incident when an individual member of staff was not very helpful and quite dismissive when I asked for advice on public transport . But, I will not mark the hotel it's self down for this because I do think it was more an individual issue. Very easy Tram and Train options into the inner city area and beyond (5 min walk). Plenty of options for Supermarkets / Shops /small cafes in the area. If with a family woth children, recommended spending the day in the StadionBad pools on a hot day (1 mile away from Hotel). The Green Spaces and Parks (around 10 min walk away) is also a good option for walks, playing and visiting the free small petting zoo. Zoo also good option. Would highly recommend for groups, families and individuals wanting a safe, clean, fun base for access to Köpn and surrounding areas

They have a small play area for the kids! The vibe is amazing! The bartender (Marcin) is great! We had a great experience! The area isn’t super walkable, we drove in and looked for stuff to walk to, not a whole lot. But the hotel does have food and stuff at the bar.

Actually, I like the concept of a hotel with a few dorms at hostel prices and a guest kitchen. Very nice bar area to sit and work in, even with self-catering from the very well equipped guest kitchen, the latter of which being the natural meeting point for the hostel style guests in the house. One downside in the dorms is the fact that there are always two non-bunk beds in the room and they tend to be really close together. If you get one of those, you might find yourself sleeping head to head with a stranger. I originally was assigned one of those, but since another bunk in the room was free, the reception was cool with changing my bed. For the rest, the dorms were spotlessly clean, with a very nice ensuite bathroom. Reception staff is friendly and they do what they can but the system seems to be working against them at times, so longer waiting times at check-in were rather the rule when I was there.

We went as a school for an educational trip. The shower had a nice water pressure and our students enjoyed their stay with the nice view of the German skyline. The beds were comfortable and the room is very spacious. Lots of storage available. However, during our stay the room got very hot and sticky even thought we had the air-con on as there were four of us in our room. On our last day we found some hair coming out of the tap in our bathroom. Even though there were some negatives the overall stay was very pleasant.

We enjoyed this trip as it was fun. We came here as a school since we study german. The beds are comfortable and the room is very spacious and lots of storage available. However there was some negatives. During our stay the room got really hot even though it is winter and we had to use a air con. On out last day we found hair coming out of the tap in our bathroom. This caused us yo be worried and a bit disgusted.

- : My room had no table - very bad luck for a business traveler. The receptionist recommended to me, to order a table when booking, i.e. next time. Now you know. Otherwise this is a very nice and very clean place with a caring staff and lively atmosphere.Well stocked breakfast buffet. Nice bar. I will return, when in Cologne..

I had a super nice two-night stay at this seemingly brand-new MEININGER hotel. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. Room is spacious, clean, and had all the goodies I needed for a comfy stay. I slept like a baby. Lobby and breaskfast area was totally modern and decked out in cool, bright but chill colors. Plus, it's a great place to kick back with a Kölsch. The area around the hotel is safe and quiet, although it's only about a 10-minute S-Bahn ride from the main train station. But honestly, it's a small trade-off for the peace and quiet you get here. I loved it! In a nutshell, I had a comfy stay at the MEININGER hotel, and I'd totally come back for more

War zum zweiten Mal in diesem Jahr im Meininger. Man darf keinen Luxus erwarten, aber Preis-Leistung ist hervorragend, ebenso die Lage, wenn man Konferenzen im Rhein-Energie-Stadion besucht. Personal ist jut druppe und immer hilfsbereit. Definitiv eine gute Budget-Unterkunft und ich werde mit Sicherheit wiederkommen

Bettwäsche wie in allen Budget-Hotels unbefriedigend. Bin mit eigener Bettwäsche angereist. Hotel sehr sauber und hell. DZ zur Einzelnutzung ausreichend groß, Bad auch geräumig. Schallisolation super. Nur ab 7 Uhr Morgens "knackt" es in den Wänden, ggf. Wasserleitungen, aber mit Ohropax geht es. Ganz schlecht: Kein Stuhl und Tisch auf dem Zimmer. Die 13 Euro Pizza schmectk wie eine billige TK-Pizza, nicht essen. Erreichbarkeit gut, Freundlichkeit auch. Kann man durchaus buchen.
