Ishq Colombo

A lovely small, quiet hotel. A peaceful neighbourhood (many embassies) , and 5 mins walk to Geoffrey Bawa's house (the architect). Attentive staff and good food. Does not have a liquor licence at present, but you can take your own without paying corkage. Would recommend for couples, as there is not too much for children.

Quite exceptional boutique hotel. (0nly four rooms) . We were assigned our own ‘butler’ Asanga who attended to our every need including escorting us on a night evening out in the city guiding us to an excellent bar and then to a restaurant where my wife bumped into a cricketing hero of hers Sangakarra. Extremely comfortable and wonderful for setting in to Sti Lanka after flight from UK. Will return when England play Sri Lanka!

What a fabulous place to finish off a wonderful holiday in Sri Lanka. Extremely comfortable suite of rooms. Delicious food. Excellent refreshing swimming pool. Wonderful ambience - just perfect. Incredibly polite and helpful staff - nothing was too much trouble. Special thanks to Ashan, DiLanka and Danushka and also to the chef who prepared perfect dishes for us. There were others who we did not meet who clearly take equal care with looking after this 'haven', not least the gardener - all looking superb. Thank you very much the Ishq Colombo 'Team' for making our stay so special. Not a complaint, but just a point to note. For those who might wish to enjoy a 'tipple' or a glass of wine - you need to provide or bring your own. The staff will otherwise purchase for you from a supermarket nearby.

The place, the staff, the food, the room, the service were absolutely impeccable. The dimension of the room was exceptionally spacious, the food was delicious, the service and the staff were incredible. We felt cuddled all the time and all our needs were satisfied. Everything framed by a relaxing, verdant and carefully tended villa. Thank you Asanga and all the staff

Ishq is an oasis of sophisticated calm brilliantly situated to either take in the experiences of Columbo, or simply to chill at the start or end of your journey to Sri Lanka. Cosy, with only 4 bedrooms & wonderfully efficient & friendly staff - the food is outstanding. We thoroughly recommend staying here as a destination as opposed to a stop-gap at the start or end of your trip.

We had an exceptional stay at Ishq! It is an absolutely stunning property with delicious food and truly excellent service. Asanga was a fantastic host. He couldn’t have made us feel more welcome. Thank you for a fabulous start to our Sri Lankan holiday ❤️!
