Grand Oriental Hotel recensioner

I had a fantastic stay at the Grand Oriental Hotel. The cleanliness, service, and amenities were excellent, and the location is perfect for exploring the city. Staff were friendly and attentive, making the experience smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommended for both locals and travelers.

The hotel looks a bit old, even the room was rather spacious but needs some kind of renovation. We stayed at the hotel only one night, so everything was fine. Receptionists were nice and helpful. The food at the buffet wasn’t really expensive (we had to pay extra money for it) and it was good. The most popular sightseeings can be reached on foot (if you like walking a lot ;-))

The building is historical but unfortunately they didn't repair and fix furnitures. Some of them are distroyed and are not in good shape.

Really great stay in Colombo! Wish we could have stayed longer. Old colonial style hotel where (we only found out during our stay!) the queen stayed twice on her visits to Sri Lanka many years ago. A place full of history! Our room was simple yet had everything we needed including on demand hot water (no geyser!), mini fridge to keep our drinks cool, AC and even (something I’ve never seen before) an inbuilt on demand music speaker with a handful of channels! Location is great and staff all very friendly.

I love this place and the price. Very close to World Trade Center building. Two blocks away from eateries for foreigners. Nice and affordable laundry services available.

Even if I ask you to clean the room, they won’t do it. The water on the floor of the bathroom doesn‘t drain well. Even if you ask me to change the towel, they won’t do it. There are a lot of cockroaches. I can‘t sleep well because of the sound of the air conditioner pen. I asked for mosquito medicine because there were a lot of mosquitoes, but I sprayed it and went. There is no effect I often come to Sri Lanka on business trips, but this hotel is just the worst. 방 청소 해달라고 해도 안해줍니다. 화장실 바닥 물도 잘 안빠져요. 타올 교체 해달라고 해도 안해줍니다. 바퀴벌레 많아요. 에어컨 펜 소리때문에 잠을 잘 못자요 모기가 많아서 모기약 달라고 했는데, 스프레이로 뿌려주고 갔어요. 아무런 효과가 없음 스리랑카 출장 자주오는데 이호텔은 그냥 최악임

Good location and lovely view from room and restaurant. We stayed just 1 night and it was enough for walking to some interesting points.

Hotel is in nice location, close to Pettah market and Fort Railway station. The room was large and everything was clean and tidy. As with all the places I've stayed in Sri Lanka, the place feels very tired, and in need of maintenance and renovation. Would recommend for a 1-2 nights stay for exploring the city.

The room didn’t look anything like the pictures, quite disappointing to be honest for the price. Staffs are friendly and helpful but the owner needs to do massive renovation to the rooms

Faded colonial glory Centrally located in the port district this hotel has seen better days that being said beds were clean and comfortable and the aircon worked well Good value for money
