The service was amazing! We were super looked after. The staff were incredible, hotel was very clean and the facilities were perfect. Supermarket around the corner, beach a 5 minute walk. Not to mention the beautiful views from the roof top bar in the hotel! Will definitely be returning to universal hotel romàntica!

We arrived at this beautiful hotel the first day after the renovation. There were a few teething problems which were easily forgiven as the staff were very friendly and helpful. We upgraded to a suite, as the superior room we had booked was a little small. The Suite was really spacious with a gorgeous bathroom, balcony and view. We booked all inclusive which was excellent. Just a few drinks I thought would be included were not. You couldn’t order Cava at the restaurant, but could at the bar. Not sure if this was a mistake. They also tried to charge us for a melted ice cream which they knew was not edible as the freezer was not yet working. I don’t think the pool is heated but gave me the opportunity to have a fast swim! There isn’t much around the area but this didn’t spoil our holiday. There was a good crowd of guests during our week which achieved a lovely vibe. I’ve added photos which would have helped me decide to book this gorgeous hotel.

The hotel location is great. I recommend to take the sea view. The check in was courteous. The hotel looks old but clean. We had a few technical issues which were quickly resolved. The room is quite small for 3 pax, it has a large balcony. The breakfast is fine, but lunch and dinner, very poor, with always the same basic dishes.

Hotel was everything we hoped for. We had a lovely sea view room with comfy beds and shower was always hot. Staff at this hotel were always friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Food was good always plenty of choice. Pool was clean and well maintained. Entertainment was exceptional for a 3 star hotel. Sandy Beach was a 10 minute walk away. Hotel promote trips and we enjoyed a day out visiting the West of the Island. Staff also helped us catch buses to visit Palma. All in all we had a great hotel at Universal Romatica.

Whether this is the hotel for you totally depends on what you are looking for. Here are some of the pluses and minuses: Pluses 1. Very friendly, helpful front desk staff ( especially Bruno and Joel) 2. Excellent, varied buffet breakfast 3. Option to include half-board with a good buffet dinner 4. Truly lovely and quite large pool 5. Nice deck right by the sea where you can reserve deck chairs ( I recommend booking these to avoid the large number of children in the pool area) 6. Good location right by the sea and an easy walk into town 7. A water filter in the lobby where you can fill your water bottle 8. Rooms with balconies that have clothes lines to dry your beach things - very practical! Minuses 1. If you get a room with a sea view, there is very loud entertainment at the pool bar right outside your window until around 10.30 or so each night. 2. In the high summer season the hotel has a lot of families with children and groups of teenagers on swim camps - this makes the pool area a lot less relaxing than it otherwise might be 3. The hotel is generally a bit old and could do with a bit of a makeover - this would be fine except that the high season room rates are far from cheap and the room quality does not justify the price. Hope this helps you decide if it is the right place for you!
