It is a beautiful property surrounded by amazing nature with very friendly owner and staff and great food. Next time we should stay longer.

Truly lovely experience at a 5 star property with an amazing hard working staff. Spending more than 8 months this year on the road, Manoir Hautegente was such a retreat treat! Tucked away just a little over 2 hours outside of Bordeaux, this high end, family owned paradise was a friendly French getaway I was not expecting. From the beautiful wheat fields when you enter the long drive way to Oakley the Manoir mascot, to the horses, fuzzy chickens, trail behind the property, and the swings in the picturesque yard where you can relax or work outside if you so choose; I just cannot say enough about Marie and her staff and what they have done to create such an amazing atmosphere for their guests. From the hardworking food servers, to the housekeepers who were on top of our room and organizing things before we could even think of it. If you are looking to get away and just forget about life, this is the place to be! Thank you all so much and we will be back.

I was a guest of the Manoir d'Hautegente this past May, and I felt delightfully transported back in time (yet had every comfort and modern amenity I could ask for). This property is exceptionally beautiful, historic, and is just remote enough in the French countryside to feel like a true getaway. Staying at this family-run property, you are made to feel like a guest of a private home rather than simply a hotel guest, because the staff are so attentive and warm, and the setting so grand, yet relaxed. Also very welcoming were the resident ponies who freely roamed about the lawns and were happy for any guest attention they could get. I was here with a small group tour of the area, so much of our day was away from the property, but I would have loved to take advantage of the gorgeous pool and to have walked the grounds. Mornings began with a picture-worthy, white tablecloth breakfast spread, and in the evenings, we enjoyed outdoor apéros and glimmering candlelight dinners. I sincerely hope to return in the future!

This is a magical place. The gardens, the river, the old mil, the beautiful manor, the loveliest rooms and the delicious food. And above the absolute gentleness of the staff. A really magical place to stay. Dozens of activities if you wish, or just stay, read and write, get a massage in those beautiful gardens. Really an awesome place.

Nous cherchions un endroit paisible où nos enfants de 5 et 8 ans pourraient courir et où nous pourrions nous ressourcer, et nous avons été conquis! Le cadre en bord de rivière est magique et le menu proposé par le restaurant de qualité. Nous avons regretté qu’une formule en demi-pension ne soit pas proposée puisque nous sommes restés une semaine, mais le chef a finalement su s’adapter et nous proposer des plats différents tous les soirs. Nous avons aussi apprécié tous les petits détails de cet hôtel familial: les petits vélos à disposition pour les enfants, les balançoires, la barque sur la rivière, les jeux de société et livres que nous pouvions emprunter librement, le chant du coq au réveil et les œufs frais le matin, les crêpes Suzette flambées avec le chef en cuisine le soir, les bougies à la tombée de la nuit et les loutres qui nous tiennent compagnie. Nous nous sommes sentis comme à la maison avec le confort d’un hôtel. Merci à toute l’équipe!
