Almijara Residence

Thanks to Maurice, I had a lovely stay. The breakfast was delightful, the view was beautiful, and the thoughtful details made my visit very comfortable. Everything is easy and well thought. About Cómpeta be aware that it’s very steep! I’ll be happy to come back.

Had a wonderful stay at almijara residence, our host Maurice could not have done more for us, his breakfasts were superb, a different dish everyday, beautifully presented, usefull info on local area and resteraunt recommendations, would love to stay here again in the future

Almijara Residence is small and personal. I was astounded by the level of attention to detail. The proprietor, Maurice, couldn’t have been kinder or more helpful. It is clearly not just a business. The room was delightful with everything needed including a very comfortable bed and pillows and soft white bath sheets. The breakfasts were outstanding, set on a beautiful sun-terrace. Different each morning, they were delicious and freshly prepared with care and included fresh juices, excellent coffee and tempting dishes. Recommendations of where to visit in town included sites, restaurants and a lovely cocktail bar, and further afield with advice on travel arrangements. Cómpeta is a beautiful town, friendly, well-serviced, and a wonderful base to explore in itself and to explore from.

The Almijara Residence is a gem! The owners and hosts, Maurice and Paul, have created a chic and beautifully appointed place to stay, overlooking a pretty square in the heart of Cómpeta. Our room was delightful; light and airy, with a small balcony overlooking the square, and very comfortable bed. Sumptuous breakfasts were made for us every morning by Maurice and served on the roof terrace, which has beautiful views over the town and surrounding countryside. Without doubt an exceptional place to stay.

Great little B&B at the heart of Competa, with views of the square, the surrounding hills, and even the distant sea. Superb breakfast terrace. Compact room, very comfy bed, very well soundproofed. All hosted by the attentive and helpful Maurice.

From the moment we arrived we felt at home. Maurice was such a wonderful host. Gave us lots of advice and his breakfasts were a genuine treat. We are buying in the village and really appreciated his guidance and experience for the beautiful community in the village. Whether for a short or longer restorative break we cannot recommend this property highly enough. There is a reason it’s number one. Outstanding in every way and people make the place always.
