AlmaLusa for sure uses the service of great photographers. I seldom had such a difference between the impression from the website and the actual impression when we arrived. Hopefully, a few good things changed our experience for the better. The hotel is really a small height building with very few outside spaces except for the pool. Not at all the hotel surrounded by Comporta style garden we had imagined. The location is in the village surrounded by small houses without style. But it is close to the small center with restaurants and shops. There is no real restaurant in the hotel, which seemed surprising at first. But there is a café open for lunch snacks and the rooftop open in the evening. We would recommend the rooftop. No local culinary specialties but it's good. To be complete, there are plenty of restaurants within a 5-minute walk, so the absence of restaurant at the hotel is not a real problem. The breakfast is OK, but the inside room has a not nice kitchen smell. The personnel is nice, but some are really junior and don't have clear answers to questions. Room decoration is not as nice as the pictures let think. We booked a suite with a rooftop terrace, but to get to the terrace, you have to exit the room. Finally, the hotel offers to arrange transfers. Don't use the service. To get there, we paid 245€ from Lisbon to the hotel to have a standard car (Renault Megane), with in fact to much luggage for the 4 of us. When I asked for a mini-van to then go to the airport, I was said that I had to pay about 200€ extra. I cancelled and booked myself through CityAirportTaxi. I got back my 245€ and paid 152€ for the new service, with a Mercedes mini-van. More for less. And to conclude, there is not a single indication of the number of official stars this hotel has. I though this was mandatory.
