The Inn on the Green

Now called The Inn on The Green. Wonderful country pub with rooms. We stayed for 2 nights to attend a family wedding - when we arrived we ordered a few starters to keep us going until dinner - wow, we were blown away - the smoked salmon had blobs of yummyness which I think was pickled cucumber gel - we also had the mackerel pate which was just delicious! There was a small issue with our room and the marvellous Mallory went out of her way to sort it out for us - we decided to upgrade to the suite which was really lovely and had the most enormous bath!! It’s an old building so expect the odd imperfection but all in all the rooms are well thought out, very clean and comfortable. Dinner was delicious and the service lead again by Mallory was exceptional. We will definitely return - can’t wait!

Just stayed at the on the green had a great stay food was great staff very friendly stayed in room 2 best nights sleep in a long time will be visiting again best value for money has all you need in the room beds was so comfy we had the fish and chips for dinner very tasty and the desserts are great aswell thanks for a lovely welcome and stay

Having avoided the Sanctum for a number of years as it had lost its way I was intrigued to return having received lots of positive reviews from friends. It was really super. A lot of effort has been put into changing the signage and refreshing both indoors and the pretty fairy lit garden. It really was a fabulous evening. Gorgeous starters -arancini and scotch egg followed by risotto. Menu is varied and interesting. Let down only by key lime pie - pastry not good at all but extra marks for obviously being home made. Will definitely return before too long and great to see The Inn on The Green has bounced back to life!

Interesting venue, reminded me of a Holiday complex, seeing lots of flesh in and around the pool. Sunday lunch very good 3 different puddings - said they were home made i agree , but probably made a few days ago, very cold, very chewy, the tiramisu was a frozen cream with chocolate in a wine glass - a sort of apology for a chocolate trifle

We didn’t stay at the hotel, we would have lunch there today. All I can say is it was a shocker . We had two salads and my husbands Caesar Salad was dire One staff member was outside smoking, there’s no atmosphere in the bar/ restaurant area…. no background music, the first glass given to me still had lipstick on, the table hadn’t been wiped down so was dirty. Never to go back there.

Visited for Sunday Lunch and it was excellent !!….Louise and her team have definitely got this beautiful venue up and running fantastically again . The roasts were incredible ….beautifully cooked and presented and sooo delicious .Would definitely recommend a visit for lunch or dinner .Beautiful outside courtyard to enjoy or sit by the stunning swimming pool and landscaped garden to enjoy . We were served by Becky who was just lovely and nothing was too much trouble ….oh and the Rose Whispering Angel was a plus too …served beautifully chilled ……..well done Team Sanctum !!……Best Jayne & Adam
