The Curious Pig in the Parlour

Good hotel and pub The Hotel and Pub is nice, good selection of food and drinks. Car park was very busy. We stayed for one night, the room was nice however we were woken up at 2:30am to a fire alarm, after around 10 mins it was turned off. There were no staff for the hotel overnight just one of the chefs there and when we asked what happened with the alarm overnight they wouldn’t say. Other than being woken up in the middle of the night it was a nice room and a nice pub

Lovely pub with excellent rooms, food was delicious. Staff were great and new outside space was good.

Good but could easily be better Upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly gentleman who showed me up to my room. The room was of good size with a reasonable sized bathroom. However, there are a couple of points that need attention. Even with the lights on, the room was quite dark and the area where the desk was located was even gloomier. It wouldn’t be an issue if there was a lamp on the desk. The plug sockets are all in the wrong place and there are no USB points. Trying to recharge a laptop, an iPad and a phone overnight was quite a challenge. The staff were all very pleasant and restaurant service was quick and efficient. The food isn’t gourmet but it’s a popular destination. However Breakfast was extremely good. According to a sign in the car park, the Curious Pig is under new ownership. With a little bit of imagination, the Curious Pig could offer a very good alternative to the larger bland hotels in the area due to it’s close proximity to Gatwick Airport. I would certainly stay again.
