Kn Hotel Matas Blancas - Solo Adultos

Der Ort an sich ist sehr schön. Nur zum aeropuerto und corralejo sehr weite strecken dadurch die autobahn noch nicht fertig ist.

My first solo all-inclusive holiday met almost all of my expectations. I’d rate it as very good, deducting one star due to the quality of some of the food and the atmosphere in the evening, which was a bit disappointing for a four-star, adults-oriented hotel. The worst offenders were the fake bacon—essentially fried, spam-like meat—and the artificially red hot dogs from the snack bar. Most of the other food was edible, but it wasn’t particularly remarkable. The highlight of the week for me was freshly fried beef steaks taken straight from the pan, as the pre-cooked ones on the serving tray were tough as a shoe sole. Breakfast was by far the best meal, featuring a wide selection of fresh bread rolls and pastries, good local cheese, chorizo/serrano ham, eggs cooked to order, and plenty of fresh fruit and salad options. On the drinks side, there was a good selection, including cocktails made by the bar staff, as well as wine and local beer. No complaints about the staff—they were all lovely, from the kitchen and bar to the reception and housekeeping. Everyone I met throughout my stay was really nice and friendly. The room and bathroom were clean, with towels replaced daily. My room had a balcony that overlooked the pools, but overall, the atmosphere was very quiet—a plus for me, as I was there to relax. However, if you’re looking for a party vibe, this might not be the best choice, as music by the pool was minimal and the evening entertainment was a bit disappointing. I went there twice, but it didn’t appeal to me. Personally, I preferred chatting with the lovely people I met throughout my stay on the lower terrace and at the reception bar instead—and it seemed that many other guests felt the same. If you're traveling solo, don't worry—there are plenty of people to spend time with and chat with, believe me. :) Overall, I’d describe it as a good place, though in hindsight, more of a base for exploring the island rather than a destination in itself. That said, it might appeal to some, as many guests seemed happy to spend their entire time lounging by the pool. Either way, you can definitely relax here after a long day of exploring. The beach and the town center were about a 15-minute walk away, and from there, you could catch a local bus for €2.70 to Morro Jable in the south of the island, which had a much larger selection of seaside bars, restaurants, and shops to explore, as well as a nice, long sandy beach. Generally, I’d recommend it if you’re on a budget, but don’t expect miracles—you get what you pay for :)

Myself, my partner and 7 friends returned a week ago from staying here and I wouldn't recommend staying here if you're visiting Fuerteventura. The positives were that the hotel itself was fairly nice, lots of sunbed space, nice pools, spacious rooms and the staff were friendly. The bars had a decent choice of cocktails and some bar staff even made us some cocktails that weren't on the menu when we told them what stuff to put in it. The main negative was that the food was the awful! Not only was it cold or mildly warm everyday, but myself and 3 other people in our group we sick from food poisoning. A few other people in our group felt sick and had funny tummies during our stay, but they thankfully weren't sick. This meant we all lost 1-2 days of our 7 day holiday and after recovering we did not trust eating there again, so ate out everyday which meant spending a load more money. We had all seen the reviews since December mentioning people being sick and we were concerned, but you can't always know for sure with reviews until you're there, but unfortunately for a lot of our group we were affected in the same way. There really needs to be some kind of more thorough inspection done, because clearly the way they are either storing, preparing or cooking the food isn't to standard otherwise you wouldn't see people continually being sick during their stays here. The other negatives were that the evening entertainment wasn't great, the place where they hold the evening entertainment felt like a working men's club. It was also annoying that the terrace bar which was the nicest was only open from 6:30pm and the desk space in the room where the tv sat was full of ants, especially if you left anything on the side. Costa Calma as a location was nice enough, but like others have said it is very out of the way and there isn't much going on, so if you want somewhere with a bit more life and entertainment another place in Fuerteventura near the airport Colette de Fuste is a better location if you're visiting Fueteventura. In summary, I wouldn't stay here again and I would say for anyone to avoid this hotel as well!
