I feel very disappointed with my experience after other reviews are so positive. First night we arrive (10pm) the room is sweltering. We went down to reception where they advised us to leave the windows open and seemed reluctant to give us a fan which they only loan out in week slots for €16. We are here for 10 days so have paid €32 to sleep in relative comfort. When I complained about price, dirt, rust and the noise of the blades hitting the cage, I just got the answer that they outsource them from another company and that’s how they are. I was not told about a deadline to repurchase the fan (as they only allow to rent it for 7 days at a time) and received a rude letter under my door stating ‘other families are waiting for it’. We got 2 shampoos and body wash on the Saturday we arrived which would have been enough to last us until Monday (maids only clean Monday, Wednesday and Friday) but we have not received any more in the 10 days we’ve stayed here. It was too much stress having to keep asking for more so had to spend money on buying shower products. The cleaning is adequate but there has been a few dead and alive insects and a drink spill stain that has been here from the people before us. It is dated which can come across as dirty such as the large orange stain around our sink. The shower was fine but fell off its hook onto your head when the water pressure wasn’t holding it up. The room is spacious but the furnishings are hard and uncomfortable. We are self board and are happy with the facilities regarding that. I didn’t use the pool as it is not heated like stated but teeth chattering cold, and often dirty. I didn’t have a problem getting sun loungers but found it ridiculous I had to wait til 10am to get one and that I had to lift it off the stack myself. There were a few days I had to help the elderly people lift them. When you get a bed it’s 50/50 as to whether it’s comfortable or you feel every bar through the fabric. The pool bar does decent food at a decent price but is not open for drinks until 12.30. Breakfast finishes at 10.30 so you have to go 2 hours without water, into the hottest part of the day. We have not had a decent internet connection since arriving. I’ve seen reviews where they claim there was a problem but they fixed it, they have not. Sometimes we can get internet in the living room but never in the bedroom. And when we do get internet it isn’t good or disconnects often. I did complain to the receptionist about much of the above but was told it was ‘not his fault’ and wasn’t offered any sort of help or compensation. I have been so upset and disappointed by the lack of care shown and the amount of extra money I have had to spend to make this hotel bearable.
