The Watlington family have recently created a vacation home in Bermuda, specifically with the nicest people in mind as we share so much history and tradition. We call it: SAGE COTTAGE AT MANGROVE BAY in Somerset, Bermuda. Sage is adjacent to the iconic amenities of the Cambridge Beaches resort and its 1st Class restaurant ‘Breezes’… “that puts even St.Tropez in the shade.” We are also very close to sailboat and motorboat rentals, shipwreck diving, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, paddle boarding, etc. Also: discover our restored Royal Navy Dockyard just up the road…full of Bermuda’s art and history with restaurants, art galleries, lovely shops and the National Museum. Transport-Wise, there are pedal bikes, mopeds and electric four-wheel vehicle rentals nearby. Also, alternatively, we are walkable to both ferries and buses. There are numerous Nature Walks in just about every direction. The Railway Trail, starting right here in Somerset, goes all the way to the other end of Bermuda. Additionally, we can show you some of the best harder-to-find nature reserves and trails that are worth seeking out island wide. Sunset Studio is located on the western edge of Sugar Cane Beach looking out across Mangrove Bay towards the west. It is the sister cottage to Sugar Cane Cottage (www.vrbo.com/3685978), which is located at the other end of Sugar Cane Beach. It is 10 minutes from Dockyard and 15 minutes from the main beaches.It is a single room studio unit with a loft space for sleeping, modelled on the tiny house concept. There is a full king sized bed in the loft area, together with small built in closets either side of the bed. The living area comprises a corner sofa unit that can convert to 2 single beds. The kitchenette is a very compact “galley” style kitchen that has a full stove, under counter fridge/freezer, toaster & electric kettle. Flat screen TV in lounge and loft area with fire tv and firestick, internet access, air-conditioning throughout. The bathroom has a large shower.The unit has direct access to our beach and there are also stairs leading to the waters of Mangrove Bay on the northern boundary. The patio area overlooks Mangrove Bay on the Northern side of the unit. On the Southern side will be a sheltered garden with a bar-b-que area (once the landscaping is finished).The exterior of the unit is designed to resemble the wooden cottages built in Somerset in the late 19th – early 20th Centuries, by West Indian workers who were brought to the Island to work at Dockyard. The house is in wonderful condition -- with a well-kept garden and fresh and clean interior. Enjoy the garden from the porch -- for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Take a short walk down Tween Walls to enjoy the property's private waterfront with wonderful views of Mangrove Bay, Somerset Village and the point at Dock Yard.
