Hôtel de La Plage

Faded grandeur and in need of updating. Staff very friendly though. One night, the bar and restaurant closed at 6pm so no service whatsoever! Had to go out for food and drink. The one evening g we did eat in, the food was excellent. There appeared to be no staff on the premises at night as we were all given a pass number to gain entry

Having booked an 'Air B&B' in nearby Arromanches les Bains and found it to be an absolute disgrace and not anywhere near as advertised, we were left with the option of a nights sleep in the car..?? With no apparent accommodation nearby, we googled to find that the Hotel De La Plage had rooms available and only 11 minutes away. We hurried over to be met by a very charming and professional young lady who got us a splendid yet cosy room. It was immaculately clean with all the comforts we expected. The hotel reviews stated that it was comfortable, with friendly staff and a great restaurant. They were not wrong. I had the moules and frites, and my partner had the chicken. Both were delicious, and the chips were, without doubt, the best chips I have ever tasted.. We had great, peaceful nights, sleep, and a lovely breakfast in the morning. All in all, this was a great choice, and I would, and indeed, will be stopping here again, even if it is just for a bowl of chips..! Free parking too, directly outside the hotel. What's not to like. We had to spend a night, unplanned, in Courseulles-sur-Mer due to a car problem and were recommended Hotel de Paris by the garage who were repairing the car. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and looked after. Lots of sympathy over our car problems and we were immediately offered a room with a sea view for the night. The room was on the small side but had plenty of cupboard space and a very nice ensuite. Nicely decorated. Extra pillows were tucked away in the cupboard should you want them. The breakfast was the usual French hotel fare - buffet style with cold meats, fruit, cereals, pastries etc. Plenty of good coffee. This is a pet friendly hotel and there were many guests with dogs so if pets aren’t your thing, beware! But the dogs were very welcome and the staff made a fuss of them - clearly putting the dog owners at their ease. This is a friendly, traditional French seaside hotel with lots of charm and free wi-fi. There was a tv in the room but we didn’t use it. It would be a good place to stay if visiting the Normandy beaches - Courseulles is pretty.

Nous avons du attendre plus une heure 15 avant d’être servi, nous faisons partie d’un groupe de Canadiens et nous avons du faire attendre les autres. Comme nous ne sommes pas français, ils ont du sûrement servir les gens susceptibles de revenir en premier. Notre tour opérateur qui vient régulièrement faire ce tour ne conseillera plus ce restaurant.

Nous avons passé un séjour exceptionnel à l'Hôtel Restaurant l’hôtel de la plage . L'accueil chaleureux et le service impeccable ont rendu notre visite inoubliable. La chambre, spacieuse et élégante, offrait un confort optimal pour un séjour en couple .
