The owner needs training in customer relations. Very unfriendly, intolerant of children. It is not made clear that children are not welcome in a weekend when there is live music

Visiting Coventry? Stop looking for a Hotel, this is the one, stay here. Imagine a large prestigious hotel reduced in size somewhat but with the same standard of accommodation food and service and you have The Jacobean. Besides the quality they have an ethic here, they really put the effort in to ensure you have a good experience, you can see that from all the staff and because of that the Hotel is run very well and is a very pleasant and comfortable place to stay. Recommended

Quite a nice hotel. Friendly staff at reception and also the housekeeping lady. Rooms nicely serviced each day and tea tray provided in the room which was very welcome. The housekeeping staff provided enough toilet paper each day which saved having to ask for more at reception. One of the few hotels I've been to recently where this has been the case. It gets very busy in the car park at weekend so I'd either leave the car in the car park all day or get back late evening to ensure a space. Always managed to get a space overnight though. Handy bus route into Coventry and the NEC just outside the hotel. Also only a short drive to Canley Park and ride for trains to Birmingham and London which was quite convenient. I hope the high standards remain next time I stay in Coventry.

Just checked out from a 4 night stay to visit family with my wife, her daughter and granddaughter with us also. Booked the superior double with slipper bath in bedroom. Absolutely fantastic stay, breakfast was best I have had cooked to order and all quality ingredients. Also ate in the bar 10/10. The staff are great and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is spotless and located perfect for Birmingham airport and the beer garden is huge and just an added bonus. We sat in the the sun on Sunday afternoon in the garden, snacking, drinking and listening to live music. Will definitely be returning!!

The rooms are nothing like the pictures, they are old fashioned and dirty. I thought I was staying in a lovely, nice, modern hotel but it was horrible, dirty and stained. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful but the rooms were disgusting

Room 14, wet room. One socket at desk, one beside bathroom. Naked pendant bulbs for bedside lights. Double bed comfy and linens spotless but rest of room grim. Wardrobe door loose, hangers weirdly sticky, threadbare chair, grubby carpet. Assortment of broken items outside window. Breakfast on Saturday superb, scrambled egg creamy, mountain of smoked salmon, freshly toasted muffin. Breakfast on Sunday dire, rubbery egg, stale cold muffin, microportion of salmon. Even my pot of tea was delivered tepid! Disappointed

Stayed for one night to attend a local wedding, and when we walked into our room, we were wowed by the gorgeous four-poster bed it looked like something out of a period drama. I half expected to find a crown on the pillow. Sadly, that’s where the fairy tale ended. The hallway and room smelled like they hadn’t seen fresh air since 1998 – musty, damp, and not in a charming “old world” way. After the wedding, we were ready to collapse into that royal-looking bed… only to discover the mattress had all the give of a granite countertop. Seriously, I’ve had softer naps on a park bench. Sleep? Barely happened. On the plus side, breakfast was lovely and the staff were genuinely friendly – so points for hospitality. If they ever upgrade the mattresses and invest in a dehumidifier, this place could be a real gem. Until then, it’s more “Sleeping Not” than “Sleeping Beauty.”

Great stay here the room was fabulous , it was spotlessly clean and there was tea & coffee facilities in the room , As well as a beautiful stand alone roll top bath !! The hotel was buzzing with people all there to enjoy the beer garden and brilliant artists who played over the weekend. Breakfast was scrummy full irish and the food menu for the bar and restaurant we're great cooked to perfection. The staff are very friendly big hello to Debs on reception a fantastic warm welcome, and to Donna the owner nothing was to much trouble . Will definitely stay here again without a doubt .

Stayed one night, and picked her as close to Albany Theatre. We checked in with Debbie who was welcoming and very friendly and professional. We had two double rooms which were both clean, with everything you require, hairdryer, iron , fan , heater and tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast great choice and freshly cooked to order. We were unsure if we could make 10am finishing time and Trudy was very helpful ordering our breakfast prior , she provided excellent service even though she was very busy. I understand this hotel is under new ownership, so I would recommend anyone to stay here and support them. We had a great experience
