Club Wyndham Resort at Fairfield Glade

The lockoff unit, 1222B Laurel Ridge, was beautiful inside. Everything looked brand new. The bedroom featured a massive TV – the biggest I've ever seen in a bedroom – a spacious closet, and a patio door leading to the stone sitting area. The porch was large which was good as we would need it due to rain! The stone sitting area offered privacy but wasn’t especially comfortable. There was little storage in the kitchen but a nice-sized pantry between the kitchen and bedroom. Other amenities were a washer-dryer combo, a small range, a dishwasher, and a fridge. The hcv was excellent with no noise. The bathroom was modern with a well-lighted heated mirror that did not steam up, and the coolest tub drainage system. The water went down into holes on the floor of the tub then was ****** out and air blown through to dry! The living room had a new sofa and chair, a side table with a lamp, a floor lamp, and a new TV with a huge cabinet underneath for storage. Very impressed!

We were assigned Unit 5325, Building 5 in Sterling Forest. We readily saw Units 5327, 5328, 5324 & 5323. (We parked in the parking lot that is in front of Units 5324 & 5323.) We could not find 5325. No signage. I'm disabled and use canes to walk. My 73 year old husband had to get out to search on foot to locate our unit. Turns out, it is around the back of Units Building 5323 & 5324, and there is no parking lot around the back! So, you have to park, walk on a sidewalk, down a hill, around a corner, and up about 7 stairs. My husband has to tote all the luggage, cooler, food bags, etc. No luggage carts either. We (actually he) finally completed getting in our unit. Again, disappointed. This is one of the more unattractive Club Wyndham units we've been in. The living room furniture is very sparse. There's a sofa, 2 chairs, a coffee table, 1 end table with a table lamp between the chairs, and a floor lamp. The TV is mounted on the wall probably 20 feet across from the sofa. Oddly, there is a large void from the wall-mounted TV to the coffee table. Nothing on the TV wall; no table or anything under the TV. There is a totally empty dance floor (I guess) that I would guess is 120 square feet. This is not an accessible unit, because none were available. Why all the empty space? It looks like the place was broken into and the rest of the furniture, wall art, and decorative items stolen. The living room ceiling fan makes noise as well. The living room lampshades are askew and apparently bent or broken because they can't be straightened. Mind you, this is just the living room area. Then, I looked at the main bathroom, which has mildew and mold around the outside of the tub. We've only been here a couple hours, and I'm afraid of what other faults we will discover. This unit looks bush league and chintzy. Step up, Fairfield Glade!

Checked in on Sunday and the kitchen counters had ants, we called them out to spray only to have them little suckers to come back. Stayed in a newer unit this year but evidently they are only allowed so much time to clean the units. The blinds in the kitchen full of dust, there is more to cleaning than making the beds,vacuuming and cleaning the bathroom. The outside patio doors really needs to be painted.

Will definitely be starting here again!!! Only problem was pool too cold it was indoor and heated must turn up the temp!!!!

We have visited this location many times. We like the local history and have visited most. It doesn't offer night life but we go there to rest and use the gym. We find that most people that complain haven't done any research of the area. We always enjoy our time there.

If you are coming for the golf this is heaven. Units are old and need updating. Pull out sofa bed was very comfortable. The resort is a long way from town with few amenities around.

Job well done in every way staff, building, upkeep of grounds, hospitality and cleanliness of unit. In all it is a place we are very likely to return to again and again.

Our rooms were very nice and clean. The area has a lot of fun things to do. We enjoy playing minature golf, shuffleboard, tennis, and hiking around the ponds. The marinas offer boat tours that are reasonably priced and very relaxing. Plenty of nice restaurants within driving distance.

My wife and I were contacted on Friday about a change to our reservations, due to a lack of staff at our original destination. We wound up returning to this resort, a place where we had stayed before in March of 2023. We checked in on Saturday, and found the accomodations quite good. It was a single bedroom, but quite spacious apartment with many amenities. We had a full kitchen, washer/dryer, a king-sized bed, and a large combo living room/dining room area. It took awhile to figure out the wall switches, and what they turned off and on, but we got that worked out. There was a problem with the gas logs not coming on, and it took a few days to get that resolved, but they did fix them; as well as replaced a damaged ironing board. The maintenance folks were very nice. While there, we attended Fairfield Glade UMC for Sunday School and Worship, and were invited to stay for their 5th Sunday lunch after church. We're glad we did. The folks were so very warm and welcoming and the food was tremendous-the best meal we had while we were there! We also attended the usual time-share presentation and informed them we had everything we needed for our travel for years to come. We just go to those presentations to get free stuff-duh. We used some of that resort money to take a pontoon boat cruise on one of the lakes on the resort property. Our "captain," Leonard, was very personable and informative and the setting was pretty and the million dollar-plus houses lining the lake were gorgeous. We used the rest of the money for lunch at the clubhouse/restaurant and the food was excellent, not cheap, but not outrageous, either. We had some left over! At Leonard's suggestion, we visited one of the few waterfalls in that area of Tennessee. Ozone Falls was worth the short hike through the woods to see it. We also toured a local museum, dedicated to the Great Depression Era project that enabled the folks there to build and own their own homes. Constructed out of local wood and stone, those houses must have seemed like a slice of heaven to the owners. They were two stories, with three bedrooms, and indoor plumbing! If you like history, this is worth seeing. The old water tower still stands, and is part of the main museum. It's 97 steps to the top, and worth the view if you care to climb. (I did.) This was a low-key, but relaxing vacation. If you are a golfer, there are a number of courses that will satisfy you.
