We stayed at Crystal Blue Lagoon over Christmas. It was one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. We had the house to ourselves since no one else was staying there. Joanne greeted us warmly and upgraded us to the mermaid room. She also went out of her way to help find us somewhere to eat for Christmas Day. She was there every day, cleaning up and running the place. The BnB has a small private sanctuary spring right on the property. I saw manatees in this sanctuary every single day. One morning during high tide, I counted 25 in this little sanctuary alone. The BnB overlooks Hunter Springs and has all the equipment you need to explore the spring and snorkel with manatees without booking any kind of tour. This even includes wetsuits! The BnB is a short walk to Three Sisters, another very popular manatee hangout. We went on two different days and saw manatees on both days. One very cold morning, there were about 200. Before booking, I was worried the BnB décor would be a little much but when I got there, it was 100% magic. It was beautifully done and had several areas to sit and take in the view. We enjoyed all the amenities, from the firepit to the recliners. The linens and pillows are nice, as well. The mattress was also nice. Ours was quite firm, however (mermaid room). My husband loved this but it was too firm for me personally. The anytime snacks are amazing – you will not go hungry, that is for sure. They had tons of options for cereals and oatmeal. There was a toast station with good bread, English muffins, and bagels. There were good yogurts and a large assortment of fruit, pastries, and sweet treats. Also: smore supplies, coffees, creamers, and hot chocolate. They also stock eggs, bacon, sausage, and even pancake supplies. This is also an easy drive to Orlando, Clearwater Beach, the Space Coast, and the mermaid shows at Weeki Wachee State Park :) And of course, all the many stunning springs in the area. This BnB was so lovely. I plan to go back soon!
