Sandals Royal Curacao

This was our first Sandals experience and our first time in Curacao. I was there for some professional development (I'm a doctor). The resort is beautifully landscaped and kept very clean. We stayed in a Sunchi Club Level Beachfront Room. It was spacious and well thought out. Lots of counter and storage space in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. Some people complain about the mattresses being too hard but we loved it. We requested extra firm pillows (which weren't in our room when we checked in). The A/C was just right. Two minor annoyances: whoever prepared our room left no shampoo and the reading light on one side of the bed was literally hanging by a wire. It took a couple of days to sort that out. The food was great but service in the restaurants wasn't always so good. For example it took forever for the hostess to seat people at Aolos. Whenever we ordered appetizers to share we had to ask repeatedly for extra plates. Our food was never served by the person who took our order which resulted in much miscommunication. Our favourite restaurant was Pietra. It was definitely the best managed one. We ate breakfast there every day because most mornings we had early plans and they open earliest (7:30) and because of the wide variety of food and the friendly efficient service. We ate at the lunch buffet there every day except for when I needed to have an early lunch before SCUBA diving. The most disappointing restaurant was Butch's. the service wasn't great and the food was unimpressive. The veal chop I ate at Pietra was far better than the thin T-bone I had at Butch's. We aren't partiers and we drink very little so I can't tell you anything about the bars. We never hung out at the main pool (too noisy). we spent our relaxing time at the beach or quiet pool. We never went to the night entertainment. After dinner we usually just went back to our room and watched Netflix. The SCUBA diving was great. The dive team were friendly and fun but took safety very seriously. Curacao is HOT and humid. Treat the sun with great respect!

Everyone has been so welcoming and wonderful!! We will be back!!! The rooms were so clean and the pool is a party every single day!!! The staff makes sure that all the guests have the best time and make sure that there are events all of the time that are truly fun!! Dennilee makes sure everyone feels welcome and brings the party always!

This was my first sandals experience and came here on my honeymoon and had a great time. Everyone working from the front desk to the bartenders were very accommodating keeping the the fun going. We greatly enjoy the restaurants especially the food trucks for lunch. Also, the nightly entertainment was amazing we made it out for every show and we’re greatly impressed. Highly recommend coming here!

This was my first sandals experience and it was AMAZING!!! My husband and I came for our honeymoon and it exceeded all our expectations! The food and accommodations were lovely! The entertainment is top notch! Every single night the team is putting out great quality shows! You can tell they care about their work and they work extremely hard to give the guests a great experience. Dennilee and Jefferson are so entertaining it’s insane! Such a talented cast and extremely personable! We got to know them throughout our week in curaçao! Everyone is extremely nice and cares about you when you walk in the door. I will definitely be back! I highly recommend for an all inclusive resort, you will not regret it!

The staff was amazing!! Sonali, Christus, Alejandro, Jo Jo, and countless others whose names I can not remember were very attentive, courteous and very relatable! They went out of their way to ensure we truly enjoyed ourselves!!! Will definitely return! Thank you all!!

First time to a Sandals. We are members of another AI resort. So in comparison, when taken to our room (along with two other couples) we were just dropped at our door. No explanation of anything in the room. They did get a big bus load of people in on Saturday so we figured we would go to a planned orientation on Sunday. Met other couples waiting for the orientation in the lobby but no one showed up. Someone asked a staff member and they don’t know what or who was holding the orientation. We were left to figure it out. Asked for a paper map since we didn’t get access to the internet the first day. They don’t have any. Hmmmm. Went to the culinary concierge and asked where Vincent and Zuka were located. She didn’t know. Really? However, we did have an enjoyable week. The grounds are gorgeous. The room was comfortable and very clean. Our room was missed getting cleaned our last day there. We then just asked for clean towels but when we came back the room was cleaned. Pleasantly surprised. The restaurants were all good except for Butch’s. Waited for our food to come out over 2.5 hours. Tried to chill and ordered an espresso martini which was awful. Ended up leaving before coffee and dessert. Did take a private tour with Discover Curacao tours with the owner Christine. Highlight of our trip. She was great. She also took us into town Thursday night for Punda Vibes. Had a lot of fun listening to the music and seeing the fireworks. Overall speaking with other Sandals Loyalty members they all said the place needs a sports bar. After dinner it was very quiet and hot in the lobby. Not much night life. Not sure if I would ever go to another Sandals. Just doesn’t have those little extras such as waiter service for drinks or food by the pools.
