Casa Cavassa Centro Histórico Cusco

Booking has confirmed exclusive two rooms but actually one room is under maintenance. We were distributed to other room with one room only. They should not provide this room type for vistor rental.

Casa Cavassa Hotel Boutique is a centrally located gem in Cusco. The hotel beautifully combines ancient Baroque architecture with minimalist and modern touches, creating a unique and stunning atmosphere. Everything about this place is impeccable—it’s incredibly clean, the decoration is breathtaking, and the furniture adds to the charm of the house. A special highlight is the two adorable cats who are part of the Casa Cavassa family. They wander around the patio, well-behaved and adding a cozy, homely touch to the experience. Luis, the assistant, is another standout. He is exceptionally proactive, attentive, and available 24/7 to help with absolutely anything you need. His dedication makes your stay truly seamless and enjoyable. If you’re visiting Cusco, Casa Cavassa is the perfect place to stay!

I didn’t feel comfortable with one of the resident cats roaming around and jumping onto the table and my bag. There are pets in other hotels in Peru but most of them leave the guests alone. Not all guests are comfortable with animals. Some of the rooms are not well-maintained in this hotel such as the door of the bathroom. The staff are pretty helpful and friendly though.

We stayed three separate nights at Casa Cavassa, we tried the apartment and the twin share rooms and both were very comfortable. I enjoyed having the balcony in the apartment. The location was fantastic we could walk to the main square, lots of restaurants, and the San Pedro market, which I recommend checking out for souvenirs. Staff were very friendly as well the cats. They helped with bags up the stairs, which was a major plus after weary returns from hiking. Room for improvement only comes from maybe providing more towels (eg. bathmat and hand towels). Thanks for the great stay!

Some things we liked: 1. The location was close to Plaza de Armas. 2. The staff was nice. 3. The room has a balcony, clean, and comfortable bed. 4. There was a view of the mountain from the living room. 5. There were microwave, large fridge, stove, pans, plates, utensils, dining table, couch, and tv in the room. Some things that could be improved: 1. The hot water takes a while to come out. The cold water knob is actually hot water and vice versa. 2. There were no extra towels/bath mats. We had to use one of the two towels they provided as a bath mat. 3. This next one is not their fault, but it is good to know before booking this place: the location is on a busy street right before a red light. Loud noises from pedestrians and cars passing and honking non-stop. If you book anywhere in the center of cusco or around Plaza de Armas, this is to be expected. If you don't like this, book somewhere else like in San Blas or anywhere further away from the city center.

I’m baffled by the quality of reviews for this hotel, they are incredibly misleading. This was without doubt the worst hotel I have stayed in. Our room was damp, musty and smelt. There was no window, so no way to improve matters. Issues went beyond that though, the bathroom door didn’t close, the shower curtain was an actual fabric curtain which didn’t dry (on account of the lack of ventilation) and smelled, meaning you left the shower still feeling a bit unclean. The light bulbs flickered for a couple of minutes when you first turned them on and wall fixtures fell off if you touched them. The rooms are also located around a central court yard where guests are encouraged to sit and drink coffee/tea, meaning I was woken every morning at 6am by people chatting directly outside our door. I was convinced to stay by the strength of the reviews and felt compelled to review as well to warn people off. This hotel was cheap but I would strongly encourage anyone to pay a little more elsewhere. On another note, I will say the staff were pleasant and friendly
