Travelodge Merthyr Tydfil Hotel

Hotel was nice & clean. Had a bed & shower & a kettle that is all we needed as we spent very little time in the room as we was out doing adventures. Hiking, Steam Train, Waterfalls, Running, Zip Line so on. Hotel staff was friendly & helped me with what I asked them. Hotel location is on a retail park so if you wanted food on the door step was ideal & town centre was only few mins walk / drive. Only 1 thing take your own pillows maybe our pillows was hard & lumpy & the staff said they had no spares which I think is weird not to stock some.

Although Travelodge have tried to up their game, it was felt that they are still lacking in many areas. The shower gel was like water, no room clean during our two night stay, including no coffee top up, and very noisy in the morning, with self close (slamming) doors. The staff were very friendly, and gave advice on where to go, when asked, but disappointingly, they deliberately overbook, like certain airlines, resulting in us seeing a couple being turned away, at 2200, because there were no rooms available, even though they had booked and paid for it. Again, the staff were very helpful, but can you imagine how it must have felt. There used to be also no hair dryers available, which my wife has told me is very important to women. All that said, we would probably stay again, as the price is reasonably good.

the staff were great in assisting me with a room allocation and help getting in . the place was spotless and realy well ventilated . the bed was great with good quality pillows . we will be returning in september for another 3 days and again next easter
