Loved the place! We got the third floor and there was a cute common area to relax and get some fine views of Cang Shan! The rooms were comfy and breakfast was great with lots of variety (thanks for the peanut butter and coffee). Staff was super kind especially when it was about to downpour and they told us to grab an umbrella. The only thing I didn’t love was the water bottles (although it was great you could grab as many as you would like). I would suggest maybe getting one big filtered bottle as the small ones felt wasteful.

We totally love this guesthouse. It's in the northern part of Dali ancient town, where the popular north market is nearby. As it's inside the ancient town, carrying luggage on the cobblestone pathway is a bit challenging. (Later after check out, the owner rode a 3-wheel truck and took us to the street to take transport to the bus station - What an experience!) What we love: 1. The owner - friendly and helpful. He gave plenty of info about traveling in Dali 2. The hotel surroundings - safe and quiet. 3. The room - clean and big. The bed is so comfortable that we had a very good sleep. 4. The public lounge - nicely decorated, giving the homey feeling. 5. The breakfast - Their Chinese breakfast is highly recommended, especially the noodles. It's very tasty. We'll definitely come back!

I only have good things to say about this place. The hotel owner is very thoughtful, took great care of me & my family, and made us feel like family. Upon arrival, we accidentally left our passports on the bus, they relentlessly put efforts to recover our passports, and the passports were successfully recovered after 2 hours. I will be forever grateful for the help that was provided by them that evening. One thing that I regret is that our stay is too short. On other aspects, the hotel location is walkable to old town, infrastructures are top notch, they are well cleaned, the pictures shown are accurate and the breakfast is delicious. They even have a washing machine to do your laundry. This hotel definitely will be my choice if I'm in Dali again.

I very rarely write reviews so the fact that I feel utterly compelled to share how lovely a place this hotel is should speak volumes. Firstly the location is amazing, within metres of the old town- one of the biggest I've been too, many stalls and food and in the evenings many bars with live music. The hotel itself, the rooms are simple but comfortable and warm - good quality duvet for winter (6°c at night when I went). Of course the courtyard is the focus point and my favourite part; super refreshing to have coffee in the morning in the quiet and nice sunlight (there's also a conservatory upstairs with a view of the mountains if preferred). And lastly the host, was incredibly hospitable and friendly. I arrived relatively late and I don't speak Chinese very well but he was very courteous and used a translator when necessary; you can also use WeChat to translate messages in realtime. He gave me a free room upgrade and always diligently prepared my breakfast each morning; on the first day he invited me to have tea with him and discussed my itinerary and made some recommendations (for no extra charge). Definitely will be recommending to my personal friends and if ever I come back to Dali I will certainly be coming here again. Thank you to the hotel for such a pleasant stay!

A great place to stay for convenience and service! Besides being clean and well-heated in winter, the host offers tea to guests when they arrive or after a long day (without asking you to buy), recommends an itinerary if you need and even arrange transport to my next location. Breakfast was simple and good - mainly for Asian tastebuds. They grow their own vegetables and they have a great natural sweetness! The ancient city is a 10-15mins walk away with many gems along the way. I highly recommend this place, and will definitely stay again if I come back. Tip: Contact the hotel before hand to get some help for the luggage as the road to the hotel is not suitable for luggage and not accessible by car.

Position is great as it's in the old town, but in a quiet area full of stores and restaurants around, bedroom has everything needed, and despite the host doesn't speak much English, he is very nice and helpful. Breakfast is chinese style but good, freshly prepared. Certainly recommended!

The hotel is close to the old town. Their breakfast is delicious, and the noodles taste warm and decent. My app had a room upgrade option, so the staff upgraded our room to a two-queen bedroom. The staff picked us up from the main road using an electric tricycle and also dropped us off after we checked out. The downside is that the heater was not warm enough, especially as the weather was cold and rainy when we arrived.

Quite an ok stay with basic breakfast provided and most amenities in place. Liked the washing machine and dryer available.

A quiet location, down a back street, not far from the main central area. The manager is very approachable and helpful, plus went out of his way to make me feel very welcome.

The host was extremely helpful. He even took us to the main road with his motorised 3 wheelers. The breakfast was varied and the lady is very accommodating. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

We had a great time in Dali and much was thanks to the great location and wonderfully attentive host. They communicated with us prior to arrival to ensure we found the place easily and greeted us with a welcome tea. The bed was firm and comfortable and the WiFi was good. The courtyard and architecture was lovely but not evident in the rooms. The room was simple and clean enough, though it could use a deep clean (wall scrub). We would recommend and happily stay here once more if we return.
