Summit Swiss Heritage Resort & Spa is one of the finest hotels in Darjeeling and part of the well-known Summit group that has multiple properties across East India. This particular hotel is located just about 5 minutes from the famous Clock Tower and very close to the main market, making it super convenient for travellers who want to explore the town. The entrance of the hotel leads into a warm and welcoming reception area, where we were greeted by the friendly check-in staff. The check-in process was smooth and quick, and the manager was kind enough to personally walk us through the property details, available facilities, and breakfast timings. From the very beginning, the hospitality here was professional and comforting. We had booked the King Suite with a Valley View which was located on the third floor—just one floor below the top. The room was large, spacious, and beautifully done with soft lighting and a huge king-sized bed. There were multiple windows around, and from one side we could see the lively Darjeeling town, while the other side opened up to a stunning view of the valley often covered in soft clouds—a sight we could sit and watch for hours. The extra bed provided for our triple occupancy booking was a proper spring mattress and equally comfortable. The bathroom was very clean, roomy, and well-stocked with essentials like dental kits, shaving kits, and good quality shampoo and body wash from dispensers. The hotel doesn’t provide bar soaps but does have liquid handwash available at the sink. The restaurant, located on the ground floor next to the reception, is cozy and offers one of the best views of the valley. Sitting beside the large glass windows, we enjoyed our breakfast every morning while watching the mist roll over the hills. The breakfast spread was generous, with a mix of Indian and continental options like parathas, puris, upma, muffins, fruit juices, and more. One small issue for vegetarians was that most bakery items contained eggs. However, what stood out was the fantastic service by Tripti and Shiva, who were extremely polite, attentive, and helpful. They even handled custom food requests with a smile and served everything with care. Our dinner experience was equally delightful with items like baby corn manchurian, paneer dishes, warm soups, buttery naan, and desserts like gulab jamun and ice creams. A special mention for Anmol Rai, the in-house live singer whose voice added magic to the evenings—you could even request songs and he would sing them beautifully. The hotel has several other unique areas, including a heritage wing with vintage-style rooms and a lower deck perfect for sipping coffee with valley views. The spa and wellness center is also worth trying. I opted for an aroma therapy massage, and Sarita, the therapist, was simply excellent. She ensured just the right amount of pressure, warm oils, and a calming atmosphere that left me feeling deeply relaxed. Although the spa prices are a bit high, the experi
