We had a wonderful 2-night stay at this charming traditional inn in Datong. Our family booked 3 rooms, and all of them were beautifully decorated—combining traditional Chinese deco with modern comforts. Each room even had a personal AI assistant that greeted us every time we returned. Such a fun and thoughtful touch!
The lobby is absolutely stunning, with oriental décor, carved wooden furniture, and classic Chinese ornaments that really make you feel immersed in local culture. There’s even a small koi pond that adds to the serene vibe.
The only minor issue was the bathroom—the toilet flush wasn’t very strong, and some water splashed from the shower area. But it didn’t affect our overall experience.
The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming. We’d happily stay here again if we visit Datong in the future!

Excellent location being close to almost all of the major attractions in the datong ancient city as well as the famous knife cut noodle and shumai restaurants are just short walking distance away. It is also very close to the bus stop for Yungang grottoes.
The inn and room overall is very clean. I really enjoy the view from the room. The host is very lovely and can help with your travel advise and booking for transport hire to go to the hanging temple .
The only negative that I can pick on is the shower situation which was not designed very well. The water outward flow from the shower is not fast enough so you end up standing on a puddle of water. And the shower curtains not positioned well so there is always going to be water splashed outside of the shower zone. I only stayed for one night and I think It’s minor compared to what this accomodation offers. I wish I could stay for more nights as it is very nice

Stayed 2 nights in March 2024, feeling warm and welcoming from the host, it is private owned by a friendly family, very smooth communication. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Would definitely stay again for the next visit.

Good overall in the centre of the ancient city and near lots of food locations. Lift could do with being fixed so it moves quicker haha but overall a decent hotel.
