Mike's Dauin Dive Resort

My girlfriend and I stayed for one week at Mike's, and we highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Dauin, especially divers. The location is perfect: right on the beach, yet not too isolated, with nice restaurants nearby (but the Mexican food at the resort itself is already amazing!). The diving here was fantastic. My girlfriend completed her AOW course with instructor Gabby, who is extremely professional and passionate about diving. He’s a calm, patient instructor with clear briefings so the student knows exactly what is expected. We also joined dives with Raul and Ace who are both excellent guides who can spot all the incredible critters Dauin is famous for. They are able to find the tiniest creatures which makes this a paradise for macro photographers. Also a big thank you to all the staff at Mike's who made our week extra comfortable. Their service was beyond exceptional.

Princess treatment from start to end! Everything from the warm welcome and always joyful staff to the witty diving instructors - the people in this place are indeed heartwarming, considerate and a upmost delight to be around! And the place itself - Waow! They take such good care of the garden, the pool area and the rooms. The dives are amazing too! Mantas, turtles, cool colourful creatures and magnificent reefs. The instructors and crew take care of everything, and they always communicate✨ We what to thank all the people in this place for giving us the best experience possible and a relaxing holiday! For everyone considering to go - GO!

A little gem in Dauin! A smaller dive resort with a super peaceful feel even at full capacity. Beautiful grounds with swimming pool and access to the beach. The dive team is amazing and so knowledgeable. You always dive in a small group and the guides are constantly finding amazing critters! We also loved the bar and kitchen and found the food and drinks excellent. Special thanks to our dive guides Kevin and Raoul, you were both amazing!! Apart from the amazing muck diving, the trips to Apo island were also amazing and the coral is breathtaking. The staff is so kind and attentive, thanks to Nathan who didn’t manage to say goodbye to on our last day, you are the best! Highly highly recommended staying here to all scuba diving enthusiasts.

My group and I had the honour to spend around 2 weeks at Mike's Dauin Beach Resort. There was nothing to blame about or to be criticised. The resort is wonderful location, not overloaded. With direct access to Beach and Sea. For people who don't like salt water... there's also a nice pool! Rooms are well equipped, clean and properly maintained. Beautiful, friendly management and staff, good food, good service, brilliant diving. We recommend this place with 5* and 100%. For sure we will return! Thx to all for the brilliant time we could spend there! ❤️

I had a great time at Mike’s. The dive resort managers, Kate and James, were super helpful and very knowledgeable not only about diving but the surrounding areas for dry days. The resort was relaxing with time spent in the pool or on the beach. Rooms clean and tidy and all I expected. But as a diver of around 600 dives my focus was on the diving. Kate and James set me up with a fantastic local dive guide Raul, who was with my every dive of my week stay. He adapted to my wishes daily and did his best to find the neat and rare critters i wanted to find. He was patient when I took photographs always staying in the near vicinity looking for other macro subjects. He checked in after the dives and the end of the day to see if everything was okay (as did Kate and James). When I was paired up with another diver he checked in with both of us to make sure we were both happy. I would stay at Mike’s again in the future and recommend it to those wanting a nice place with great guides around Dauin.

Mike’s resort is a typical diving resort, like you find in the best places in the world for diving. Basically a 3* beach resort with a pool, bar and restaurant and everyone staying comes for the underwater world. The lack of luxury is more than compensated by the friendliest and knowledgeable staff: both the local people from Negros and Apo Island and the internationals from the US and UK. Our girls got their PADI OW certification here and are now confident divers, doing several more dives in the Philippines. Rooms are comfortable and have a good shower and air conditioning. And a TV, but we never used it. It’s a quiet place on the beach, most guests were in their room at 10PM, when we were there. Sometimes the dogs bark in the night (there are dogs everywhere in the Philippines, and are taken care of by the community) The diving is great, both along the shore as around Apo Island (unique experience!). A lot of fish and other uderwater life. Turtles can easily be spotted snorkeling directly of the beach in one of the open water sanctuaries close by the resort. The dive guides are very experienced, with probably 1,000+ scuba dives each. And most of them started young as free divers and know all the good spots around. Kitchen is great too, with the nicest local staff. Next to that you will find a couple of good places for people who like healthy vegan food. We loved the one at the yoga studio at the central square. Will definitely recommend going to Mike’s resort and probably come back there if we get the chance.
