The hotel is very old, some of this I found quirky and the decor was interesting but this is no reason for the place to be dirty. My aunts room had a half eaten packet of ginger nuts in the drawer on arrival, a dirty fork in another drawer, and then some old letters in another. I was in another room upstairs, the place was quite dusty. The toilet was carpeted and no ventilation so it was damp with the carpet coming up by the shower. We didn't sleep well as the door to the room although locked was moving with a draft and making alot of noise, we tried to wedge it shut. The lady on arrival was very polite and the location is a short walk to the centre. There are only 4 spaces outside the hotel and you will have to pay to park opposite however you can only pay for 2 hours at a time at £2.60 a time, no option for a day ticket.

This is a very tired hotel and need ALOT of work. The fact that the room was clean was the only reason I didn't leave. The shower head didn't work, no fan in bathroom, window in bedroom didn't open so no ventilation, the bed was extra bouncy and mattress old. Better and cheaper places to stay in Dawlish.
