We weren’t planning to stop in DeFuniak Springs, but found ourselves in need of a room when our car broke down nearby. A customer at the repair shop recommended this hotel and I’m so glad she did! We were able to book the room online, and immediately received confirmation by text. We arrived 30 minutes later & everything was ready. We had a few questions about getting in & the owner responded immediately by text. It couldn’t have been easier! We stayed in the Magnolia room on the first floor, which was well appointed & VERY comfortable. The shower was fabulous!! It was obvious that a lot of thought had gone into the design, from the beautiful chandeliers, to the gorgeous drapery, authentic furniture, in-room fireplace, and even push button light switches. We walked to a nearby restaurant for dinner & afterwards enjoyed relaxing in the main room. I wish we could have stayed longer than 1 night!

This historic Inn was beautifully done. Very cozy, and relaxing . We stayed in the Walton room which was so stunning . We had our own balcony. If we needed anything we just texted and the nice lady brought what we needed. Very responsive. We highly recommend this Inn for a few nights stay

Sunbright Inn is a masterful renovation. Every minute detail was considered. It’s gorgeous. However, while staying, the inn was not satisfactory on several levels. Pluses: the owner is very responsive and responds by text right away. The drinkware is glass, not plastic. The fridge/freezer in room combo was handy. What didn’t work for me and I thought others might want to know: Overwhelming scent. Plug in air fresheners and all linens (sheets, blankets, towels) washed in scented products. (Gave me a headache) Parlor furniture was historically accurate, thus sized for people 5 ft or under. Very low and thus not comfortable for hanging out. The mattress on the bed in Magnolia was so tall - up to my waist - and I struggled so hard to actually get on the bed that I nearly slept on the floor. Could have used a step to help those of us who aren’t athletic. Finally, after driving all day, I hopped in big beautiful shower to unwind and found the water tepid, never hot. Disappointing. There’s real pressure to “tip” even with substantial room rates. I feel this is driven by the costs of renovation, but it was off-putting. Overall, not the review I thought I’d leave. :-(

Can't believe anyone giving the Sunbright Inn less than 5 stars, just an amazing property, the attention to detail is everywhere. We stayed in the Govenor's Suite, my father stayed in Loblolly, just over the top in every way, the beds are so comfortable; the towels are luxurious; actually looked them up online and bought some for our home, the slipper tub is heaven and showers are massive; the history is fascinating, I read for the past hour about the home in all the framed artifacts throughout the house; the decor and fixtures are high quality and beautiful; my father loved the huge flat screen TV in his room and all the premium channels, the fridge and freezer, coffee maker with different gourmet coffee selections; the huge living room seating area with a chess game area, seating area with authentic Victorian furniture, and the list could go on amd on. Stay here!! I will travel back to this area to stay here, don't miss this true gem!!!

The inn gorgeous. We stayed in the Loblolly and the room is lovely. The inn is not directly in the historic downtown but it's a short drive to restaurants and shopping. It's on a busy street but it's gated and they do a good job of blocking out outside sounds. The owners were very responsive to any questions or concerns that we had. The inn has been newly renovated and it had a nice combination of vintage charm and modern amenities. It was charming and lovely and we hope to stay again. There is no breakfast at the inn but there are places you can go to for breakfast.
