Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island

We are just coming back from a 4 night stay at FS Desroches… the only bad thing about our stay… it was too short! Since the arrival the wonderful hotel staff awaits you with a buggy and a smile on their face to bring you to your villa. After a small island tour you finish the registration process in your villa. Location: Fantastic! Just a 35 minute flight from Mahe (I recommend to stay at FS Mahe, too before or after, see my evaluation) your arrive at Desroches island where FS is the only hotel and in the other side of the island some private villas are located. There are several incredible beaches, some for relaxing, some more for snorkeling. We loved the Madame Zabre and Aquarium beach most as well as the Sunset beach. Every morning the FS recommends the top two beaches of the day (can change from one day to another regarding the weather). The complete island is top maintained, beautiful palms, flotation and probably (together with Mahe) the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen. Being at the beaches, that you can reach by your private bicycle or with the golf cart, feels like being in paradise. Crystal clear water, white sand beaches and the great panorama. Resort: There are three restaurants, all of them are great! During our stay I assume that the half resort was occupied so every night two of the three restaurants are open. I can recommend all of them! I had the best Aubergine steak at Lighthouse and the best Sushi at Deli! The garlic chili shrimps rolls are the best I ever tasted! The main pool is located close to deli and a lauding where lunch is served. They have a great activity team at Castaway Center. You can have snorkeling gear for free every day and we loved our first scuba dive here! We booked the All Inclusive Packer before and really liked it, huge variety of drinks are included as well as wines, beers and daily mini bar refill, as well as all the dishes in the restaurants. One special thing about the resort is the star gazing experience at the airstrip, we did not believe that it would have been so amazing! Villas: Just fantastic! We had the sunset view villa and loved it! We have stayed at many FS and other luxury hotels with private villas, but we loved this one most! Direct access to the beautiful sunset beach, huge garden with a nice pavilion and huge private pool and an almost new villa with huge sealing and a great bathroom. Choosing between the villa and the beaches was probably the hardest decisions those 5 days. Service: Almost all the FS we stayed at are usually located in very special places (Sayan, Ten Trinity, Jimbaran, Mauritius, Mahe, Serengeti) and some of them offer from the”lowest category” only private pool villas (Mauritius, Desroches, Mahe, Jimbaran) so it’s really hard to say, what’s the best FS? So the game changer are the people! Specially at Desroches we felt so appreciated from ALL the staff! Doesn’t matter from which country or region they are, all with their particular own Charme make you fee

Four Seasons Desroches was no less than a beautiful dream. Right from the start to the end the staff at the resort made sure that we have the best of the experiences. We loved how beautiful and thoughtfully made was our ocean pool villa, with breathtaking views of the ocean, gorgeous pool and comfortable bed and bath. Cycling around the property was fun, we especially enjoyed visiting the tortoise sanctuary and the sights of the shearwater birds at night. The staff at all the three restaurants were very very friendly and welcoming. Special thanks to Florence at the Deli, Abram at the Claudine and there was this lovely young lady with a cat eyeliner, sorry missed her name, who took such good care of us at the lighthouse. The only improvement that I would suggest is to add more variety to your food menu, there were not many options to choose from for lunch and dinner , it would be great if few Indian recipes could also be served. Special mention to the beaches around the property, even the far off ones are so neatly maintained by the four seasons, we loved visiting the aquarium beach, clean blue waters, secluded yet safe. We had stingrays swimming around us. All in all, we had an amazing time , thank you so much for the great hospitality, we will look forward to visiting many more four seasons properties around the world!

This is a top Four Seasons resort, an absolutely outstanding property. Vastly superior to Six Senses Zil Pasyon we also visited. Easy transfer via light aircraft (no issues with baggage) and warm welcome. Incredible island with a huge number of activities. Find your own beach and spend as long as you like enjoying the ocean. Great restaurants / Lighthouse particularly outstanding. Great beef. Service levels top top notch. Nothing too much of an issue. Great hotel for teenagers / lots to do. Giant tortoises amazing to see as well. Villas v comfortable. Well appointed and maintained. Easy to get to public areas. Downsides / WiFi v slow in all of the Seychelles as Starlink now allowed and a cheese soufflé was average. Beyond that / this is an incredible hotel.

We have just returned from the most amazing two weeks in paradise on earth. Spacious stunning villa for five of us - plenty of space and more to live there forever if you want to! The island is truly spectacular, you feel like you are a castaway except your every need is catered for. Deserted white beaches, sea turtles, jungle pathways by bike and roaming wild giant tortoises (the stars of the show!) we so enjoyed feeding them and stroking them as they are very tame with humans. A real treat. The staff are incredible at this hotel. So friendly and welcoming - exceptional personal service and we truly felt like we had made friends during our two week stay. Of special mention (although everyone was first class) our restaurant waiter Abraam who made us laugh every meal time and was a true professional, Tony our wonderful butler who looked after us beautifully, and Rohan (Marketing team) who was so welcoming and friendly every time we saw him. These people and all the staff really enhanced our stay. This place is a cut above the rest. If you get the chance to visit Paradise don’t hesitate!!

This hotel is truly awesome spot called a Paradise at the Edge of the word. Property is perfect, staff is well managed and amazing, food is great considering you have one of the most complex logistics operations to get anything there. If new experiences is high on your list - this is the spot!

Desroches island is truly paradise! We loved our week spent on the island and thought it was the perfect amount of time. The staff was incredible from Masha who welcomed us and gave us an incredible tour as she checked us in (and then brought postcards for us on our last day so we could send them to friends and family) to Nasreen who is the amazing conservationist and an expert on all things turtles and tortoises We enjoyed some of the most beautiful sunsets right at our villa, deserted beaches (I don't think we ever saw more than 2 other groups with us at any beach at any point), turtle filled waters and friendly tortoise filled land. I will say that whilst the service was amazing at the restaurants, the food disappointed us a bit (other than breakfast). The deli and the lighthouse were much better than Claudine in our opinion.

We stayed at Four Seasons Desroches for Four days in the middle of August. Everything concerning our stay was simple perfect; our Villa was huge, with nice local design in modern standards. The food was stunning! The themed buffets evenings and a’la carte menu - Food quality in each restaurant was always stunning. I also did the scuba diving in hotel’s Diving Centre and I can highly recommend it to every maritime life fan. As I said before, the stay was simply perfect from the beginning to the very end and we will never forget it. We would also like to mention about Lai Lai from the main restaurant – she is one of the friendliest people we’ve ever met!

Unique experience. Resort in Paradise. Best service full of kindness. I have to think longer to find anything to complain. Food is on a high level but not on the same as the rest of the hideaway. But please - we talking about the top of the tops. Reason could be the logistics of purchasing process. Remember: you are nearly at the edge of the planet…

I love very much this island, a simple island, 5km long, with its numerous desert sand beaches. Desroches island is 240km West of Mahé island, you can access it by plane, a 40’ flight from Mahé. 4S is the only hotel on the island, located at its extreme west end. If you are looking to disconnect yourself from the hectic world, to relax and enjoy slow life, this is a place to go. My villa, a sunset beach suite, is very spacious, well equipped, in a rustic chic style. There is a small pool and a pool cabana in the garden, very pleasant. Nothing to say about it, except for the WiFi which is really really slow. May be it is a way to force you to disconnect for a while ? I did not go to the main pool because I prefer to go the beaches. There are several ones, the nicest IMHO being « Madame Zabre » and « Aquarium ». But what is missing is a beach (with beach service) within the hotel ground. So every time I wanted to go to the beach, I had to ride bicycle or to wait for a complementary shuttle operated by the hotel. There are 3 restaurants in the resort, the nicest in term of location being « The Lighthouse » - it has a magnificent 360 degrees view of the island and ocean - but it has the least good cuisine among the 3, as for us. I have also enjoyed numerous activities provided by the hotel, spa, kayaking, turtle watching,… Unfortunately I was not able to do snorkeling since I wear myopia glasses but the hotel do not have snorkeling masks with corrective lenses (at FS Maldives Landaa Giraavaru they have them, which misled me into thinking it is the case also here). Final word on the staff, very friendly, very attentive. They did really succeed to make me feel at home.
