Blue World Dharavandhoo

Beautiful room! Very comfortable, clean and decorated in a modern style. Lot's of space, nice wooden ceiling and decor, big shower/bathroom which is partly outdoors but with roof and walls. Tasty breakfast is provided in another building next door. Lot's of outdoor lounge spaces and free bikes to ride around the island. Very friendly staff!

Me and my wife with our 21 yrs son has been in Blueworld from 25th of to 31st december 2023. We have never been in Maldives and it was avery good experience. We’ve got a warm welcome at the airport where Karthik come to receive us and bring us to the room. In some hours you feel at home. All the staff is very kind and helpful. All the activities are organized in a familiar but safe way and you get in touch with other guests creating a very friendly atmosphere. I would suggest definitely the stay which is also good value for money

Before diving I walked by the diving school to get some information because I wasn’t sure yet if I was going to join or not. Faisal was there, he informed us about the marine life, corals, but also schedule. After the first dive the boat would go back to Dharavandhoo, so I would be back at the hotel at 10:30-11:00. It sounded great, so I decided to join. The boat was nice, the crew super friendly, great vibes. I got a quick introduction about the boat and staff because I was new, which I really appreciated. The crew assembled the equipment. I was watching how the captain screwed in an old din valve insert. When I checked the equipment myself, it was leaking air. When I commented about the leaking, the crew replaced the din valve insert for a new one that worked well. But, once diving, there was a problem with my regulator. It was leaking salty ocean water into my mouth almost constantly. Which not only was extremely annoying, it left me very thirsty, and I used up a lot of oxygen because of constantly having to spit out sea water.. it really ruined a gorgeous dive. Not only was the dive ruined after these problems, the boat that was promised the day before by Faisal to go back to Dharavandhoo after the first dive, didn’t. When I asked a crew member, they told me they where continuing to the next dive site.. So very unexpectedly I was stuck on a boat I didn’t want to be on for 3 hours!! The weather was terrible (windy, rainy, cold) and my husband was worrying where I was back in the hotel (I don’t have a Maldivian sim card to let him know why I was so delayed). To top it off, when at the end I gave some feedback to Faisal, he said it was my own fault and that I should have indicated that I wanted to return to Dharavandhoo. What the hell? My husband was there when he informed me, and Faisal clearly stated that the boat would return after the first dive. If he on the other hand would have informed that the boat normally continues to the second dive site (which is normal) I probably wouldn’t have even joined the first dive. Or at least after the first dive he could have asked me what my preference would be, to go back or not. In summary, bad equipment and terrible communication from staff (Faisal) ruined my experience and I wouldn’t recommend anyone diving with Blue World! I am rating with 2 stars because of the other sweet crew members that tried to better my experience. Otherwise I would rated with 1 star.

I booked 7 nights, but stayed 12 nights at the end. The moment I reached the guest house, I already made my mind to extend the stay because the whole environment is so beautiful. The wood carving art is incredible. We were welcomed by the fresh coconut water and a parrot saying “hello”(I love birds!). The room doesn’t have number, but different marine life theme instead, for example eagle ray, turtle, octopus, lobster…etc. I got “moray eels”. Each room has a small balcony with two beautiful designed chairs and a cloth drying rack. The room is well equipped, you have bath towels, beach towels, hangers, a powerful hair dryer, a fridge, and even a speaker! Hot shower is nice and stable. The room is very bright which is a big plus for me since I hate to staying in the dim light. The kettle, water dispenser, tea bag, coffee are available in the public area. One of the best parts is the free bicycle you can use anytime. The guesthouse is very close to the airport, the port and super markets, restaurants. With 3-5 minutes walking distance, you can reach “Honey Bunny” where provides nice meals, snacks and drinks opening for 24/7. Blueworld has it’s own dive operation. I dived with them every day. Every time I saw other dive boats full of divers, I am so happy with our small group. Morning 2 tanks dive usually departs at 8:30, and they check with the ranger in Hanifaru Bay very often, so if there are good chance for mantas, we’ll just abort the dive and go for manta snorkel since Hanifaru Bay is the key point in this season everyone comes for. Needless to say, manta snorkel in Hanifaru bay is amazing, we even saw whale shark the day before leaving! Just keep in mind that they are wild animals, you cannot complain if you don’t see mantas, but appreciate if you see them. Not only hanifaru bay snorkel, diving is also highly recommended. All the dive sites are nearby and interesting. We did a night dive, it’s one of my best night dives. Our dive guide Appi has good eyes looking for both big things and small stuff. Such a pleasure to dive with him. The team is professional, the crews take care of you very well. Coconuts, cookies, and hot tea are provided on the boat. The price is quite affordable, but the service is luxury. Thanks Faisal for the quick response and all the arrangements. I plan to come back again.

Blueworld provides an amazing service from start to finish. From my very first interaction with the team to the end of my trip the service was seamless. They organised all of my transfers at a very reasonable price and saved me the stress of having to organise anything. On arrival I was picked up from the airport and taken to the accommodation which is super clean and comfortable. The staff are extremely friendly and can’t do enough for you. I was there to dive and the experience was nothing but amazing! The team working at the guesthouse, the dive masters and boat crew are all fantastic and will ensure to provide you with the best experience. All dive sites are located 15/20 mins away so you are not spending long periods of time on the boat. The dive equipment is great quality and the team ensure that your safety is a priority. Blue world is suitable for Solo travellers or large groups. Thank you all for the most amazing experience, I could not recommend you enough. I will be back soon!

We decided to go to Dharavandhoo spontaneously while we were already on another local island and reached out to Blue World (Faisal). Faisal made us a good package including transfer flight (from/to Male), accomodation and diving. Regarding accommodation Blue World is great. There are bungalows and each bungalow has its own underwater theme (e.g. lobster, eagle ray, shark, morray eel, etc.). The really cool and nice room and bathroom was very clean, bed was comfortable there is an AC and a fan as well. There is no TV in the rooms but for us this was not important at all. Breakfast was a combination of local maldivian breakfast (Mas Huni) and continental breakfast (toast, marmelade and scrumbled egg). There are bikes available (free of charge) to explore the island but most places are in walking distance anyway. Wifi was working most of the times but not always when we were there . Faisal also created a hotspot with his phone for us if we had to go online urgently. Generally, if one wants a reliable internet connetion it seems best, to buy a local SIM card in Male (50GB for 35 USD if I recall correctly). One can have dinner and lunch in blue world as well on request. But we usually went out to eat to get to know and experience the island. Diving was super fun as well. We left at 08:30 am and all dive sites were within 15-20 minutes by boat if I recall correctly. In case the Mantas gather in Hanifaru bay the boat crew is informed and one can decide to go snorkling with the mantas instead of diving (as only snorkeling is allowed in Hanufaru bay). So the snorkeling trips to Hanifaru Bay will only be undertaken in case there are actually Mantas there which totally makes sense. Due to the monsun season visibility during diving was rather bad but still good enough and diving with Appi and Faisal was super fun anyway. The whole boat crew made sure we always felt safe while assuring a funny relaxing atmosphere at the same time. There is a bathroom on the boat and in between the dives coconut, cookies, coffee and water was provided. We saw Mantas during diving as well. Additionally nurse sharks, turtles, sting rays, giant napoleon fishes and many many more. The diving equipment which we rented was well maintained. All equipment is prepared and transported and cleaned by the dive center staff. You can also only go there for diving if you are staying at another place on the island. So all in all we had a five star experience and can totally recommend a trip to blue world. Thanks again to Faisal, Appi and the whole team and kindest regards from Switzerland :-)
