The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah

We had the BEST time at the Residence Maldives! We would absolutely recommend to any of our friends. We cannot say enough good things about the staff 10/10 so friendly, helpful and just a pleasure to be around. Our accommodations, the activities, and overall experience was exactly what we hoped for and more. We celebrated our honeymoon and my husband’s 40th birthday here for 1 week. They really made the whole day special for him. They did a birthday surprise in the room with a lovely decoration on the bed, wine and a cake. The staff said happy birthday all day and then at dinner we had a surprise as well. These little touches through out our stay really makes this place stand apart. For more details about our stay… PreArrival + Arrival I couldn’t be happier with level of communication I received before arriving and the instructions available. We booked a travel zoo deal for a 1 week stay and I reached out to the hotel to reserve our timeframe. It was very easy. The domestic transfer from the international airport was very easy as well and the staff greats you and walks you through each step, including checking you in and your bags etc. It was a short plane ride over and a 15mins boat ride after that. We felt very taken care of during this process and everyone was very friendly and professional. When we arrived the check in process was a breeze, and there is a nice refresher waiting for you. After a buggy took us to our villa and our bags were already waiting for us. We had a sweet surprise to kick off our honeymoon stay with a decoration on the bed and bottle of wine. We stayed on the Dhigurah side but the connecting island Falhumaafushi is also available to visit, eat at, etc. Activities During our stay snorkel gear is available to use the whole time and two bikes are also at the villa to use. It’s a good little bike ride from one side of the island to the other so it’s convenient to have. They also have buggies or golf carts that you can call reception to request one to take you anywhere. There are a lot of other activities that are available as well. Kayaking, paddle boarding, dolphin sunset tour, and a lot more. We signed up for a discover scuba session. Our instructor Tarush, was so nice, patient and very knowledgeable! We felt in great hands. We would highly recommend this experience and the reef was STUNNING. While we were snorkeling as well we saw fish, turtles, sting rays, and little sharks! It was our favorite thing to do and then when we were tired we would lay by the pools. They also have a little island in the middle of both resorts called castaway island. This place was so cute and made you feel like to were away from everyone. They even have a small bar there as well with a couple select spirits and drinks. Look out for Sampath, he was so nice and helpful at the castaway island and at the lunch/pool area. The staff is very friendly. They welcome us with a smile every day. They are good at recommending delicious drinks and drinks. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice, and the food is delicious. The buffet menu changed every day, so I could enjoy it without getting tired of it.

Celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in the Maldives was nothing short of breathtaking. Staying in an overwater villa with a private pool on the sunrise side was like a dream come true, offering spectacular views every morning. The dining experiences were exceptional, with every restaurant impressing us. However, our favorite was *The Dining Room*. Hafiz and his team truly went above and beyond to make us feel special, creating customized vegetarian dishes that were absolutely delicious. Their warmth and attention to detail made each meal memorable. The weather was picture-perfect throughout our stay, adding to the flawless experience. We were also able to visit the sister hotel across the bridge, where we enjoyed the pool and leisurely lunches and cocktails overlooking the spectacular beach. It was wonderful to explore both properties during our trip. As first-time visitors to the Maldives, we couldn’t have asked for a more magical experience. Every detail exceeded our expectations, making it a truly unforgettable celebration of our milestone anniversary.

Most amazing island paradise! Have just returned from what can only be described as a perfect holiday. Not only is the The Residence Dhigurah/Falhumaafushi a truly stunning location, the staff really make the difference. Friendly, attentive and courteous throughout our entire stay. Special mention for Layla & Meenakshi they have gone above and beyond to ensure we had the most incredible stay. While the island is slightly further from Male than some other resorts, requiring a domestic flight as opposed to a sea plane or speedboat. This only adds to the experience giving the true Maldivian feel. The food is impeccable in all restaurants, however I highly recommend Long Island the pasta is truly amazing, so fresh with the herbs coming directly from the online garden. I also recommend the Falhuma restaurant, the o⁰ver water French restaurant, the setting is something else. Overall the holiday has been 10/10 and we can't wait to come back. Massive thanks to the whole team at The Residence, can't wait to see you all again!

6 out of 5 stars! Amazing place! The service and staff exceeded my expectations. The villas were spacious and beautiful. Great food and drinks. The snorkeling at the house reef was best I have experienced , so many turtles. We did 2 scuba dives )swam with spinner sharks) . I loved the fact that we could bike between 2 resorts and we bounced between the 2 beach clubs. The beach between the 2 islands has the blue clear water that makes you feel like you are in paradise. It was really hard to leave…..

My husband and I are generally not beach vacation people but the Maldives has blown us away. The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah is one of the best resorts we’ve ever stayed at. The staff are the loveliest people. We felt so welcomed and immediately familiar with everyone. The little extra touches that they provide made our stay so wonderful. The over water villa is an incomparable experience. We saw many sharks, manta rays, and fish right in our backyard. We would absolutely come back.
