Utmärkt struktur med många fristående villor i trädgården runt poolen. Direkt vid den breda, vita sandstranden. Mycket trevligt master bedroom på första våningen med stort terrass badrum. Utmärkt värde för pengarna.

Dag 1: Jag beställer 2 öl. Hon tar med 1 öl. Jag säger till henne att jag precis beställt 2 öl. Hon tar sedan tillbaka 2 öl till. Suck... Min AC fungerade inte första natten Dag 2 av min 7 dagars resa och jag ångrar att jag inte läste recensionerna på Google först. Rummen är inredda i en sovsal. Fjärrkontrollen saknar locket. Batterierna fungerar inte. Madrassen är tunn som jag skulle föreställa mig fängelse. Servicen på restaurangen är fruktansvärd. Wifi är hemskt. TV-valen är hemska. Jag var tvungen att ringa receptionen från mitt bord för att få någon service på restaurangen. Jag kommer förmodligen att boka någon annanstans bara för att inte förstöra min resa helt. Underhållspersonen har varit i mitt rum fyra gånger och min fjärrkontroll fungerar fortfarande inte som den ska. Dag 3 på stranden och jag håller med gästerna om hur dålig restaurangservicen är. Bra att jag bokade en annan plats snart. Dag 4: Städare knackar på min dörr 3 gånger tills jag äntligen öppnade när jag försökte slappna av. De har inte Stör ej-skyltar som alla andra hotell. Det 6 personer i baren har ingen ens gett mig en meny. En vit dam sätter sig efter mig och får en meny inom ett par minuter, 2 bord ner. Jag var tvungen att ringa receptionen igen, två gånger. Det tog 10 minuter att få en meny. Tänk på att jag tog kontakt med en servitör och pekade på min plats innan jag satte mig vid ankomsten. Jag har varit i Kenya i 3 veckor från Nairobi till Nyali och idag istället för ett kycklingbröst är en kycklingburgare malet kyckling. Sedan gör jag en ombeställning av fisken och han frågade mig om jag vill ha den välgjort?? Det är inte biff. Så glad att jag bokade ett annat ställe. kom inte hit.

I love beach restaurants and bars. Bahari dhow was amazing with friendly smiling staff all the time. We had ywo dinners here and we were not dissapointed.You can enjoy sunbathing on the sunbeds.i jsut found myself coming back. Highly recommend.

Disappointing Stay at Bahari Dhow Resort – Not Worth the Hype I wish I could give Bahari Dhow Resort a glowing 5-star review, but unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. Let me break it down. Location – 100% The resort’s proximity to the beach is its biggest advantage. Walking along the shore in the morning and evening, especially during sunset, was incredibly therapeutic. That, however, was the highlight of my stay. Customer Service – Below Par The customer service was disappointing. Any time we requested assistance, we received little to no help, forcing us to handle things on our own. A resort should prioritize its guests' comfort, but this one failed miserably in that regard. Booking Issues – Unprofessional Handling We booked well in advance and chose the villa as the most convenient option for my family. After making a down payment, I later received an email with an inflated balance, which led to a frustrating back-and-forth before they finally corrected the issue. The entire process felt shady, as though there was foul play involved. Check-in Experience – Chaotic and Unwelcoming We arrived on January 1st, expecting a smooth check-in. Instead, the resort was wide open to the public, with anyone able to access the premises freely. I’ve been to other resorts along Beach Road, and they have a well-coordinated way of handling public access, often charging a redeemable entrance fee to control the crowd. Here, there was none of that, making the place feel overcrowded and unsafe. Despite indicating a check-in time of noon, we arrived at 4 PM only to wait three more hours before our room was ready. And when we finally got in—what a nightmare! The room was messy, the bedding unkempt, and the overall cleanliness was unacceptable. Facilities – Poor Maintenance Utensils – Outdated and worn out. Furniture – In desperate need of an upgrade. Electricity – Kept going on and off throughout our stay. Swimming Pool – Overcrowded to the point that it was unusable. Even checking into our room felt unsafe due to the sheer number of people on the premises. It didn’t feel like the exclusive, relaxing getaway we had paid for. For the price we paid, I expected far better. Compound – Neglected and Uninviting The outdoor areas were poorly maintained. The grass was overgrown, making the compound look unkempt. There was nothing appealing about the outdoor space, no inviting areas to relax in. Breakfast – A Health Hazard Day 1 – Breakfast was fresh, likely because the villas were fully booked. Day 2 – The juice tasted off. Day 3 – Disaster struck. My entire family got food poisoning from the buffet breakfast. While I typically don’t eat breakfast, I opted for an omelet that was freshly made in front of me, which saved me. However, the rest of my family suffered from diarrhea for days, making the journey home extremely difficult. We had to get medication and stay hydrated just to recover. The first night, my laptop bag with a laptop and other electronics was stolen from my room. The management didn’t seem bothered. A roommate had heard someone trying to unlock their door and when we called the receptionist to check if everything was ok, they didn’t do anything

It is hard to find anything good to say about Bahari Dhow beach villas but I’ll give it a go: The rooms are spacious. The pools are very large. It is on the beach. It is cheap. In contrast it is easy to find fault: Staff are nonchalant , indifferent or inexperienced. The place is dirty, there was no housekeeping service, food was terrible, ‘restaurant’ was full of wasps, crows and cats. Furniture was falling apart. Frankly the place has seen better days and is in dire need of an overhaul.

Our family spent five nights here in a return visit because the beach front location is perfect.The staff are polite. However, unlike our previous visit, there were very few organized activities like Zumba, etc. Bahari Dhow has a lot of potential, but the management needs to spruce up the villas, improve the bathrooms, ensure kitchen is well stocked, linens upgraded, broken furniture replaced, etc. The management also needs to prioritize their residents over holidays and weekends. We were unable to use the pool because the hotel allows non-residents to pay and use the pool and it gets too crowded. If the hotel wishes to have public access swimming facilities, they should consider building a separate swimming pool in the grounds by the entrance to ensure that residents can enjoy the facilities throughout their stay.

This is not a place that you want to stay. Monkeys in and out of the apartments constantly. The rooms are not well cleaned and are very basic. The restaurant is TERRIBLE with the service taking hours and the food being disgusting. Worst of all was the entertainment. They had some nice singers but the clients were very disturbing. Lots of elderly white men sitting with young Kenyan children sitting them on their knee and feeding them. This made me very uncomfortable and needs to be investigated further. None of the staff seemed to be bothered by this. As well as this the beach and road are frequented by beggars. I have stayed in many hotels around the world and I have never seen anything like this. Stay anywhere else in Diani if you want an enjoyable holiday. The problem is not with the resort but with this specific hotel.

We were privileged to stay at Bahari Dhow Villas between August 1 and Augus 6, 2023. We were attracted to the serenity of the facility, and the accessibility of the pools next to the villas (villa has three great and well-kept pools), which our children really loved, as well as its location on the beach (allowed us rest and dining at the beach). The highlight of our stay was the tasty food from the restaurant and great customer service from the reception team (Lillian + Jerome) to the workers (Steven), the waiters (Chai + Caxton), and the pool attendant (Daniel). These individuals made our stay enjoyable, and we would like to thank them! The villas are also spacious, with the kitchen having a good oven and fridge (even though the kitchen would do with addition crockery and cutlery). The flip side of our visit was the acceptance into the property of rowdy, party-going travelers that occupied the villa next two ours, two days to our departure. The last two days were characterized by rowdy behavior that included blaring music, from early morning, aimless consumption of alcohol including around the pool to some unwelcome making out in the pool! With a mixed crowd of families with infants and small children, to mature citizens as patrons, we would have hoped that the instructions were clear on the type of activity and behavior permissible in the premises. This was not the case and forced us to complain to the reception on two occasions about the music and general disruption. On the villar itself, we feel that a thorough cleaning is due, especially in the kitchen area (walls and electronics) and the lounge chairs (external and internal ones). Also, our mattress in the master bedroom may do with a change as we kind of sunk into the middle, ruining a good night of rest.

The hotel is run down. The TV didn’t work, no sandals or robes for guests. The first floor smelt of gas. No safe, windows don’t lock nicely, no insecticide to get rid of mosquitos, awful menu. The concept is good but the hotel seems to be grossly mismanaged. The staff is friendly. I would never stay at the hotel again. Over-priced! When you check-in, you are required to pay in full. They also require you to have a band on your wrist like a school nursery school child to show that one is a guest at the hotel. The staff is friendly, but not professional.

We decided to go for lunch together at the beach bar and also thought about looking into staying at the villas. Initial impression was that exterior of the some of the building need painting and fixing. we were shown A11 only to find that there is a lot of moisture in the walls which has been covered up with surface paint only. Door handle falling off the doors. On going back to the restaurant, we ordered a meal and drinks. It took over an hour for the meal to arrive and when being presented with the bill there was additional drinks on the bill that we had not ordered. disappointing indeed for a place with so much potential.

While the hotel management was very unprofessional the restaurant manager, Dora, was the reason we decided to stay in this hotel.She made us feel welcome and at home at all time.Dora interacted with guests and made all of us feel like somebody in the hotel cared about our wellbeing. On the other hand, hotel management did not care about us at all and only cared about the money. Truly a disappointment given that the location is perfect. Dora truly made our experience worth it though.
